Introductions / Re: Mikro from France

Welcome! What part of France do you live in?  (just curious)

You could just have three buffered inputs mixed to a single output - no switch required.

But if so, why don't we see many more Millennium Bypass around?

I guess because many pedal makers use soft touch bypass now. And switch pop is more frequently rooted in input and output bypassing.

Open Discussion / Re: BYOC Analog Delay

Pfft. You think that's a lot of trimmers? Just look at the AD-999!

I actually have one of the BYOC delays I bought from someone years ago. I had intended to put in BL3208 in it...half the delay but overall a better sounding BBD. I should bust it out.

The feedback pot is grounded when turned all the way down which is what allows for a single repeat. So you possibly have a bad solder joint on pin1 of the pot or something is amiss in the pot itself. I would reflow the solder joints on that pot first. If it still has the same behavior you may need to remove the pot altogether and replace it. If you do remove the pot, be sure to check again before replacing that you have only one repeat. If you still get multiple repeats with the pot removed then you have something else going on...possibly a solder bridge or some other issue.

None of the value changes you made are an issue.

I'm a little worried about smallbear at the moment (I know hes still on vacation). I ordered a 3008 2 weeks ago and it still hasn't arrived, nor as the tracking updated. And again, vacation, so no email communication.

blergh.

Yeah they got a couple pot values wrong on my order from a week or so ago....sent an email, no response.

Did you mean?... in parallel with the Hard pot

Oops yes I did.

You've actually got the hard and soft backwards. Hard clipping is the default Rat style which are the two 1n4148 that go straight to ground. It's a bit more complicated than the traditional setup since it has two more 1n4148 in parallel with the soft pot to blend additional clipping diodes in series. Soft clipping is in the feedback path of the op-amp. The Soft pot mixes between the two back to back clipping diodes in the op-amp which are the 1n34A and the "body diode" of the BS170. At center it has equal resistance on both sides meaning the least amount of soft clipping from either diode.

The 2n5458 has nothing to do with clipping. It's an output buffer.

Yeah a 100uF is fine.

That's really cool!

I saw a video of T2Laser which shows you how to burn an alignment grid into a piece of scrap...not sure if that might be useful. I was thinking I might try doing some cardboard cutouts....like tape down cardboard, cut out the enclosure outline, remove the waste then place the enclosure inside the hole.

I think I could do something with this. I've got a dual tremolo design which is already done and it could be adopted for a stereo pan with some modifications. Plus, it's got one added feature (envelope control) that could be very cool with a stereo setup.

Solder it to a piece of perf with wires attached. That'll do it.

I don't even plan on trying the manufacturer software with it. T2Laser seems to be the way to go...but I think it costs about $40 (I think support for XP is minimal and unfortunately the laptop I was going to use has XP). Maybe Linux would be worth a look.
