So am I correct in thinking the Bumblebee is basically a Slow Gear chugged into an optical compressor? Or would it be an opto-comp shoved into a slow gear.

What an odd combination of circuits to mix. Sounds interesting though.

I actually do not yet have the schematic for the VFE Bumblebee so I can't say for sure. But it appears to be compression with the option of blending in volume swells in parallel. If you click on the circuit block diagram on the VFE site it gives you a more detailed explanation.

As long as your DC jacks are isolated from the enclosure (as they should always be) it's not an issue. Ground is ground. Negative ground and positive ground are just descriptive terms to identify + or - dc voltage. But, they are only + or - minus relative to ground which is neutral. Your audio jacks should be grounded, though. Either directly or through sleeve connections to grounding points on the circuits. As long as there is one solid connection between the enclosure and ground and all the audio jack sleeves have continuity with that ground then you are good.

Also, if you are using a One Spot, you actually only need one jack for your negative ground circuits since the outputs on the One Spot are not isolated. Each of the neg/g circuits could connect to that one jack.

General Questions / Re: pork barrel MN3207 MN3007

Correct. In general, the MN320x is the lower-voltage negative ground version of its MN300x counter-part. Both can be used for negative ground circuits, however.

That's because it is a negative ground circuit. MN3007 were designed for positive ground. When you use +dc you have to flip power and ground on the BBD. Check out the CE-2 schem and you will see the same thing.

Here is a list of the all the projects you will have to choose from. Of these, only the Bumblebee is a limited supply. Everything else will be in stock for quite a long time.

Alpha Dog
Blueprint
Blues King
Bumblebee
Choral Reef
Darkhorse
Distortion 3
Enterprise
Fiery Red Horse
Focus
Merman
Mobius Strip

Likely that your repeats pot itself is either bad or has a dodgy connection, or there is a solder bridge somewhere on the traces.

9v or 12v (with a 12vDC supply or charge pump). 15v does not work. It would need adjustments in either the clock or LFO or possibly both. I don't know what exactly those adjustments would be since I have not tried to figure it out.

LT1054 is recommended if using a charge pump but one of the other types you mentioned may work. You will need to make sure that pins 1 and 8 are connected if not using the LT1054.

It's an octave up fuzz. The gnarly sort.

Yeah, it is a little monster of a fuzz pedal. I gots one too!

Also, Forrest- what about your CNC? That one engraving you did a few months ago looked great. Or, is it more trouble than it's worth?

Both those projects are now in their respective zip files in the Archive.

I'll get those up later today.

I bought this wrap off Amazon quite a while back but this was my first time using it. To apply, I used 220 grit sandpaper and sanded cross-hatch over the enclosure. This is to create small grooves for the glue on the wrap to adhere to. I cleaned the enclosure with Acetone, then applied the wrap pretty much the same way you would do tolex. It already has a glue backing which makes it much easier. Went on really quick -t he whole cutting and wrapping took less that ten minutes.
