Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Rustbucket question

No, I would not recommend it. You really need that 100mA on the -9v rail and the MAX is going to tap out at around 40mA, IIRC.

I'm putting your recent order in the mail tomorrow morning so if you need an LT1054 let me know. Pretty sure I have a few of them :)

I kinda go back and forth. If I play one guitar constantly for a couple of months I totally don't mind the strings being dead and I even start to prefer it. But if I pick up another guitar that already has dead ones I hate it.

When I was a poor college student I would boil old strings instead of buying new ones. Didn't really do much.

I also frequently change strings after weekly singings.

Mods / Tapanator Phaser mods
September 21, 2016, 01:47:57 PM
Something I did not include in the doc, but the Phaser for the Tapanatorator is pretty ripe for modding to taste. As designed, it's on the darker side of phasing but this can be changed. Here are a couple possibilities (these are just ideas - I have not tried them personally):

Univibe mod - Use the Univibe value caps for the phase shift.
C4 - 15n
C5 - 220n
C6 - 470pF
C7 - 4n7

Brighter phaser
C4 - C7 - 2n2 or 4n7

Audio/Video Demos / Re: Tapanatorator Demo

Here is the higher quality audio. This was Telecaster - Princeton - ZOOM H2N. I did some light compression on the audio before exporting it to mp3.

There was a problem with some code on the Order buttons for the Tapanator projects. This is now fixed. If you were having trouble, just refresh the page a couple of times to make sure it updates.

Also, I am working on the Tapantor demo right now. It will be up either this evening or no later than tomorrow morning.

So, does that include international?

Yup! There were a couple orders this morning that came in this morning before the free shipping started and those have already gotten postage refunds.

Free shipping sale and the Tapanatorator projects plus restocks are now available in the Store.

And yes, kudos to Reverb for their slick website and I'll also give a kudos for trying to handle a touchy subject from an unbiased viewpoint, while also not being wussies about it - I think they did as good as you could do, given the situation.

Ditto. I think the main complaint is that they could have devoted that effort to something (or someone) more worthy. But, they did a good job as far as presentation.

Would it help if a prize was offered for best effort  ;D

Hard to say. Could be a wonky footswitch. Could be signal bleed-through in the wiring. Maybe a pic of the build would help.

The tantalum goes in the C11 spot and there should indeed be 6 of the 100n caps. Thanks for the heads up. I've made the corrections to the doc and re-uploaded it.

General Questions / Re: LM78L05 not regulating properly
September 18, 2016, 03:03:47 PM
Definitely backawards. Look at the picture of the traces in the doc. Where you have 9v connected to your regulator is the pin that goes to the PT and should be 5v.
