From your earlier post - do the repeats die out completely after 6 or 7? If so, you actually may have a wrong resistor value somewhere in the build, esp. around the PT2399. A clear pic of the top of your PCB would help determine that.

Definitely cool. I know OSH doesn't do well with high resolution gfx on the silkscreen layer, but apparently it's okay on the copper layer.

What's the voltage going to be on the Timelapse?  I'm curious because my effects loop of the amp I currently play blows every delay pedal I've tried away and something tap-able with high headroom would be awesome.

It will be 9v-powered but I will be experimenting with up to 15v to see how it does.

Using BC549 should be okay but doesn't affect the feedback. Do you get oscillation if you turn the control all the way up? If not, you might need to lower R24 to 12k.

I decided to pick one up since I have not bought a strap in probably..a decade?

Wowsers. I love it. I got the brown with white vinyl racer one.

I use a spare probe off a DMM (my local electronics store had a bin of them for 50 cents a piece) as an audio probe.

Is there any advantage/disadvantage to doing it this way? I just chose it because it was cheap and accessible, not because of actual technical know-how.

No advantage other than it only required what I had laying around the house. But, using a DMM probe is also a perfect solution.

Just out of curiosity - if I were to make a few (much better/professional looking) audio probes for sale inexpensively would anyone be interested? Not that I am discouraging the DIY aspect of this because it's easy to make what I showed in the tutorial. I'm thinking something that looks more like an actual tool.

There are already several prototyping rig tutorials on here and I don't expect mine will add much that's new. But, I think it's important to have for the website. So, here is the new tutorial (also linked on the Tutorials webpage).

Ask Steve at Smallbear if he will be/can he carry them, too.

Sadly, my Skyrim character has turned evil. He's killin' everybody up in there.

I'm saddened about the Cave Troll.  I've been DYING for a PT2399 tap tempo.  The Cave Troll was the one effect in the lineup that gave me hope.

I hear this one's pretty good:

I was considering asking if anyone had had experience with this circuit, but was afraid I hijacking the thread. I guess the solution is to embrace the noise?

I'm pretty sure Midwayfair has some experience with that circuit.   ;)

Just to be clear - my negative comments on the TT PT2399 only pertain to my design and my disappointment with it. There are good TT projects out there and I'm sure the Hamlet is great (only built the non TT version of it myself).

3M double side foam tape all day long.

I got better.

The issue with the Cave Troll is the Taptation chip and how it works with my particular design. The TT chip lets you go up to one second and I just cannot get an acceptable result noise-wise out of my delay design for that length of delay. And, there are at least a few cases where people found the tapped tempo gets out of sync over time. Basically, I'm pretty frustrated with the PT2399 anyway so why not just focus on the analog tap tempo design since that's what most people seem to want.

At NAMM I talked to a couple people about their proprietary TT solutions with the PT2399 and that kinda reinforced my feeling that the Cave Troll just wouldn't be that good.

I've been really slow on EP projects the past two months but I have not abandoned it. I expect to have 5-6 new projects released by the end of July...just FYI.
