Thanks for the heads up. Lemme see what I can do.

This isn't the Kemper (although he uses one sometimes) but here's a demo of doing impulse response on a cab:

BTW: it's nothing special in terms of an instrument but last summer I had a few days to play on a Big Baby Taylor and it was great! So, so easy to play and pretty decent sounding.

What kind of acoustic you looking for.  Currently downsizing, trying to get to <80 (translation - trying to move 50, 30 already gone).

You parting with all those PRS finally?!

The long leads should go to the square pad, so you actually did it right the second time. That is strange though because they are back to back so it shouldn't matter which way you do them (as long as they are B2B).

Incidentally, all the diodes in the MBP library are cathode to square pad EXCEPT for LEDs. I found early on that people got confused and were constantly flipping LEDs when I had it the other way around so I changed it just for that one.

If you can fit it sure. Need to flip it 180 degrees though.

I've got some good pictures of my recent cavity shielding and dummy coil attempt. I'd be happy to upload them if anyone wants to see.

Sorry that I have not refreshed my memory on this, another issue if I recall is that you can not use the now normal reverse wound middle  pup.

I'm not sure that would matter once the magnets are removed. All your left with is a coil. As far as direction of the coil making a difference, my memory is also kinda sketchy but maybe because magnetic fields run orthogonal to the coil? (yes it's been 20 years since I sat in college Electricity and Magnetism)

I actually just tried doing a dummy coil a few days ago. Did not get results as of yet. I used a cheap pup that measured around 5.6k. Did not seem to make a difference...in fact it seemed to make it a little more noisy if anything. Gonna try working on it some more.

Basic content has been added to the Tutorials page (may require a refresh). More tutorials will come.

Tech Help - Etcher's Paradise / Read this, please!
February 02, 2016, 02:57:47 PM
This new section is for all questions, feedback, tech help and whatever else regarding the Etcher's Paradise. I'm branching this off from regular tech help to hopefully make navigating threads easier (since there will eventually be many more EP projects than PCB's in the store).

Also, if you verify a project please say so and I will update it's status to "verified" on the EP page.

Is the Pointdexter inspired by a pedal with "apple" in its name?

"Boutique" will be the code-name for Z\/ex. Reason not important.

Thanks guys. I'm glad you are liking the EP. It's a bit lean on content but a lot more will be added. It takes quite a while to get these docs done, as you can imagine.

Here is a summary of all the website changes:
A lot of code was tightened up and tables were optimized.
The navigation system was replaced with something simpler.
The Projects page got some minor tweaks.
The About and Links page were combined with the FAQ Page.
The Builds page was deleted.
The Tutorials and Demos pages were added. There is nothing on the Tutorials page yet but there will be soon. The Demos page will get an actual design...I've just got basic content on there now.

I am still looking into a new shopping cart system so we are nowhere near finished with the website. But, this is good enough for the moment.

Open Discussion / Re: Jan. 30,31 Posts gone now too?
February 02, 2016, 01:56:35 PM
I've had a good night's sleep and a chance to get over myself, so here's the deal:

The weekly maintenance is causing the forum to crash. This is a combination of table repairs/optimizations that smf automatically does. I do not know why. I had re-scheduled it to happen in the wee hours hoping that it would work okay during lower traffic. I even got up at 3am Sunday to do a back-up just before the maintenance.

The forum crashed and my back-up turned out to be corrupted (a specific type of error which is beyond my capability of fixing). So, it was coming down to a choice of either 1) hiring someone who knows sql to fix the problem 2) spending who knows how long trying to fix it myself or 3) load the next good backup from two days earlier. I went with option 3 because the other two meant the forum would be down for days.

Steps I'm taking to prevent further problems - I've removed all automated maintenance tasks so this specific error should not happen again and I will continue to make frequent backups. Removing the maintenance is not ideal...the tables need occasional optimization and so on. But, it at least solves the immediate issue. Longer term, I'm going to have to either bone up and learn some sql and PHPAdmin or at least have someone who can do it for me when issues arise. For now, the immediate cause of the problem has been dealt with AFAIK, so please continue posting!

Regarding the forum crash from earlier today. F*&k that noise. That's all I have to say about it right now.

Here's the good news: Etcher's Paradise has launched and there have been some other updates to the webpages. You may need to refresh the home and projects page to start to see the changes. Here is a direct link to the new EP page:

If anyone encounters issues with the new pages please post here. I have checked over everything but it's easy to miss small things here and there.
