So sorry to hear this. But glad to have the forum back.
Edit: why does it always show "0 posts, 0 topics" in the hosted subforums section? It has always done that, so maybe that can be changed now?

That's normal. The HSF are organized as subs under a category (which itself has no posts). There's no way to change that without re-organizing the subs themselves, AFAIK.

Also, very big sorry to our supported shop members, too. I realize this puts a burden on you guys to have to re-create some posts, etc. Actually, I'm more cheesed off at that than losing any of my dumb posts!

I can't log on from Taptalk. Sucks to loose the data but lucky it's not all :)

i will re-install TT soon. For now I want to see if things stay stable for a day or two before making any changes. Then I'll get it back on here.

I also got an error two times now, not using tapatalk

Keep trying. I just deleted the folder from the server so the callback there should not happen. But, please let me know if you see it again.

One thought: do you have the corrupt backup that overwrote the non-corrupt one? We might be able to pull that data into MySQL and do some repairs on it and re-import it.

No, i could never access it. From what I gathered, it was some kind of disk read error on the server or something. The table kept showing up as "in use" and I could not export it or anything. Thanks for the offer, though.

Incidentally, I get an error when I post, but it looks like the posts are actually hitting the database properly.

I think that is Tapatalk. I've deleted it for now so let's see if that stops the error.

Just a crazy thought, but do they back up every 24 hrs?  If so what about the back up that happened thurs?  Probably not what you want to think about...

Anyway sorry to hear of all the trouble.  Crappy service on the host end for sure.

They do an automatic back every 24-36 hours. I contacted them well within that timeframe. But, the restore never happened and they just let the backup get over-written the following day. I asked for any other back (tape, whatever). Nope.

Here's what happened:
At around 6pm on Friday the forum crashed right after some automatic maintenance. I attempted to do typical repairs available through CPANEL and smf repair guides. These were not successful. After some more digging around info seemed to point at a server problem and not something I could fix. I contacted the host to ask for help. They advised to restore either a local backup or their last automatic backup. I asked them to restore their backup since it was only 24 hours old. Then, they did nothing. Nada. I asked them two more times for updates and it turns out that they waited too long. The automatic backup was overwritten. The entire messages table was lost. Luckily, I had a backup for them to restore. Now the bad news: It's from May 2015. This means everything since May is lost forever.

I'm pretty well livid. Obviously, I f'd up by not doing more regular backups. But, this should not have happened. If they had done what I asked when I asked it we would have lost at most 24 hours of the forum. Now, we've lost 7 months. So, we'll just have to move forward. Obviously, I'm going to be backing this thing up a lot more regularly and if it happens again I know exactly what to do. In the meantime, I am very sorry to all the members. There's no way of knowing just how much we've lost here and it is devastating, but it could have been worse.

For now, any member that registered in the last seven months will have to re-register. We will also need to re-create Freppo's sub-forum. And, worst of all, we lost the entire BOTY contest. In fact, I was coming on the forum right around the time it crashed on Friday expressly to announce all the winners. I do know that Leevibe won the grand prize, so if anyone else can tell me the order of the runner's up please let me know and we'll get it sorted!

If anyone encounters issues as we start to use the forum again, please post it here. I'm going to keep a hawk's eye on this for the next few days.

All the items marked "sold out" will be restocked very soon. I will be doing all the ones at the top in the pre-order category first, but after those are here I will re-stock everything else.

Some of the build docs will be going up. I expect the Lowrider will be up tonight and Freekout tomorrow. Getting very close to done on everything.

If you can get down to 7v on the bias that should be enough range. Usually 7-10v is about the range you would start hearing delay from the two output pins.

I'm a little stumped. Your voltages are good. You obviously did the jumpers right. You are getting clock signal. Going on the assumption that the clock and BBDs are in fact working parts, there are no bad solder joints or bridges anywhere then we are running out of options. I don;t like sending you on goose chases but one other thing to try is to remove C19 and jumper the + and - pins. This puts Vgg all the way to ground. In my experience this has never been imperative to make an MN3008/05 work but it's something at least.

If that doesn't do it, I will send you a for-sure working MN3101.

D2 is the Rate indicator like you said. The LED pad on the board is for your indicator LED. Simply wire that to the positive side of your off-board LED and the neg side of the LED to your 3PDT. In either case use whatever style LED you like.

At 14.19v, your bias on pin7 of IC3 is way too high. Can you tell me what the min max range you get on pin7 when you set the BIAS1 to full left and full right?

This might be nothing but your clock chip looks a little off to me. Not the voltages, the actual chip looks different than most of the ones I have used. If you have any other MN3101 it would not hurt to pop it in there.

Do you mean the TL074? It does sound a bit different but not in a bad way. Personally, I use the TLC2264 in the Kingslayer. I may have an extra for you if you are in the States. But, either is fine. The TLC272 is sometimes problematic due to running it a bit beyond its rails in this circuit. The 074 and 2264 do not have that problem.

I just realized I was looking at the sunking schematic when I made my suggestions but I think you get the areas I am discussing.
