Global Annoucements / Re: Spring Sale + updates

I actually had not even thought of it. Let me see how a pre-order might look for these. The sale is still on, of course.

Global Annoucements / Spring Sale + updates
April 02, 2015, 02:59:23 PM
Starting on Saturday morning there will be a "Spring Sale" on boards that will last three or four days. Probably a fixed % discount.

Obviously, I have missed the "Late March" target on the next batch of releases. This is mostly due to finances at this point with the tax bill this year. So, I'm hoping the sale will drum up just a bit of extra cash to float some of these very large PCbs I am about to manufacture. I've also got a few pedals and things I'm going to post in the BST section. We are still on target as far as what will be released, though, so no worries there.

After the next release, I will be spending a few weeks to re-do the website as I outlined at the beginning of this year. I may sneak in one or two small projects at the same time, but the major focus is on the website.

This year has been very productive up to this point, with release batches coming about every 4 weeks. I am going to do my best to maintain that once the website redesign is complete for the remainder of 2015.

I'm pretty much over giving JHS any flack. They more or less changed course a couple of years ago as far as designing their own boards so don't bother about it any longer.

Very nice of Brian Wampler to mention the DIY community. He seems always seems like a down to earth guy.

All that happens in the vibrato side is that the dry-through signal is disconnected so you are hearing the modulated section only. This is phase shifted and filtered so it does not have the same frequency spectrum as the through signal (wherea true vibrato might). There is literally nothing to fix here. That is the sound of the Univibe. The only thing that might possibly impact the sound is if you made an error on your resistors for R12, R13 or R14.

There is a missing ground connection on the Bypass section of I/O pads for the Phaser side. If you are in the process of building, simply run a wire jumper under the board from the G pad to the nearest ground via, as shown in the illustration below. If you have already boxed yours up, no worries: run a ground wire from the Delay or Overdrive switch over to the Phaser footswitch - will accomplish the same thing.

My apologies for the oversight - this will get corrected on the next batch of boards.

Okay, I see what the problem is. It's not the LED connections but the ground pad on that row of connections. It did not get connected to ground, which is why your LED is not lighting up.

I will post a correction and instructions in the Errata section.

Let me check the PCB design...mine was also not working at one point but I thought it was just a bum led. I will make sure there is no missing trace there (just to be sure it is coincidence).

What kind of DC jack are you using?

Does anybody have a sound sample of a Dirtbaby or single chip Zero Point you can post? I'd like to hear how yours sound with Delay knob at noon, Feedback down, Mix up and you hold a note or chord and let it ring out.

Both my Dirtbaby and Zero Point mini have an annoying white noise on the repeat.

Thanks,
Mike

I'm sorry you are having so much trouble with your builds. I am going to a demo of the ZPSX2 soon so I will hook up the Dirtbaby too and do one for you. That should give you a basis for comparison.

Wow, that's so much delay you probably don't hear the second note until your next birthday.

Are they filled with lead based asbestos?
Why so cheap all of a sudden?

Could be a lot of reasons. Maybe to clear out for newer inventory, a new version, etc. They may just need to raise capital for something.
I'm pretty excited to try this out. I know it's a huge box but I do kinda have that desire to own (or at least audit) as many commercial delay pedals as I can afford. Which is ridiculous since I have already built more delays than I can ever play.

cool stuff thanks :-)
any news on the small harbinger? or isnt that planned to be released yet? you make us hungry with the facebook posts haha

I don't think it will make this next batch. The DB3 and Rust Bucket are going to cost some major bucks to manufacture, and there are others going at the same time. However, AKAIC the development on the small univibe is done so it will definitely go in the batch after, or in-between. I did get my special photocells today so I'm going to compare those to what I have in there in case I wanna make a recommendation.
