The pot with R7 sounds right for attack. For C3, perhaps a 50 - 100k pot in series with the cap?

12 is fine or leave it off even so long as you don't plug in anything over 9v.

You need to track down where the noise is introduced in the circuit. Use an audio probe. I would first listen to the outputs of the PT2399 and Belton Brick, then the output of the gain recovery stage which is IC4B.

Any noise coming out of there is going to translate into your bypass signal if you are doing non-true bypass. So, we need to find the source and eliminate it.

If you find you like most of the darker end of the tone control, then I would actually increase C15 instead. Try these values: 10n, 15n or 22n. Leave C16 as 68n or 100n is okay too.

I don't know if you can those plastic shaft pots in C tapers, but that might smooth out the second half of the control.

What you describe is exactly what it does. But, listen just a bit closer on some of the lower settings. If the reverb is set high enough the dwell control will "wash it out" a bit before it goes into self-oscillation.

I would like a french bulldog

We have a French Bulldog, too. She's a lot of fun...very good companion. Except, just two weeks ago she decided to eat a helping of blanket which landed her in emergency surgery.

Pugs are awesome. Pure lovedog. We have two. One is normal and very pug-ish. The other is deaf, missing one eye, has a partially crumpled body and her bark only comes out sounding like "MARK-LARK". I am seriously in love with both of them.

I might be able to work one out. Let me take a look.

I will do these in batches every couple of months or so. So, there will be another in April or May. I will announce it further ahead next time around.

I just got an update on this from the manufacturer: I should have the LW boards in hand on Tuesday March 10th. Everything is pushed back a bit because of the Chinese new year so of course all our manufacturers in Asia are on holiday.
