Really soon. I think we are waiting for NAMM to be over.

Thank you REJ!

IMO, it's not a big thing. You will come back to it when you are ready. It's different if it's your job...then you gotta power through sometimes. But, hobbies are meant to be fun and fulfilling, not work. Shit, I lose motivation every couple of months for a few days. It's just part of life. But, then it comes back on its own without forcing it. I just let my brain cycle through whatever is bothering me about it then start fresh.

Best part of a hobby or a passion is it will always be there for you. You don't have to impose some kind of "accomplishment metric" on yourself...that's just too stressful!

Glad you like it! Let's see the finished product, if you please :)

So far I have the OD, a compressor, delay, tremolo, and chorus designed for this enclosure (all different than the existing MBP projects). I think a phaser and envelope filter would round it out nicely. And, of course, I had to try to put a Klon in it, too. That was a tight squeeze.

Anyway, just something to work on in downtime. Not doing a big push on these ATM, but a few proto boards might show up as giveaways in the near future.

Yeah, that is super cool.

I like how it looks with this "big" knobs.. How does it sounds? TS style or?

It is in the TS family but better, IMO. I like it more without the input buffer. There are a few other differences.

This is an overdrive I designed specifically for the Hammond 1550P. This enclosure is smaller, but much wider than the 1590A. The advantage over the 1590A is you have space (in theory) for top mounted jacks. So, the idea is that a few of these side by side would work really well on a PT Nano or similar.

But, there are a few issues. The PCB design had a break-off board for the pots. This proved unusable because the jack tips came into contact with a few of the solder joints. If I had drilled slightly lower for the pots it would have been okay. Secondly, I ended up having to file part of the lip on the lid to prevent contact with the tabs on top of the jacks which were causing a short. This could be overcome by just heat shrinking the tabs. Lastly, the lugs on the 3PDT are about 1/2mm over the bottom edge of the enclosure. I got around this by using a bit of velcro on the lid to prevent shorts.

I'd like to get these issues worked out because I have 5 or 6 different designs for the 1550P. I think it just needs more careful planning but if they were just 1/2" taller it would be so much easier. Anyway, the OD sounds pretty great. It's IC-based, output buffer, active tone control. Simple but very complimentary. Plus with over-sized knobs it's cute as all hell.

The big warm diaper bit had me laughing. I think I will put that quote on the website.

Are you using a layout, vero board, perf build? We need more details.

Sorry about that. I have added it into the doc now.

I think somewhere around 35, which is a mix of my own prototypes and a few other builds. I'm almost done with my ADA flanger which I started 4 years ago!

Okay, it's up: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Dirtbaby/Dirtbaby2015.pdf

Unfortunately, it looks like the Tails mod is a dud. I worked on it for quite a while and I just did not find a solution that worked well enough. So, my apologies to anyone who was looking forward to that...at least it was a minor feature. I will spend some more time thinking about it but there is no point in holding the doc up further. An optical bypass there would work, but bringing up the LED brightness has to be slowed down otherwise it will still pop (based on my experimentation). That in and of itself may make it not optimal as well.

Coming very soon.....keep an eye out!

If you are using the 78L05 you need to put it in just as shown on the layout. 7805 would require turning it 180 degrees. These voltages are way off so I'm guessing that is the problem.

Not a pedal, but one of my guitars. My Ibanez s540 which I sold to pay my rent in the 90's. I still look for it on eBay. Someday I will get it back...it has a very distinctive chip on it.
