No, I already mentioned that the other three would be the only ones today. I might be able to get those two in before the sale ends.

The sale will go live in a couple of minutes.

IF YOU already had any items in your cart from before the sale, you should remove and re-add them. Otherwise the discount might not get applied correctly.

Cheers.

Here are direct links to the three Short Run PCB docs. I need to take the Project Page down for a while to get the sale going.

I'm going to add in the voltages for the Dirtbaby later today in the doc.

We're you able to repair or was it "restore from backup" time?

It was repaired, not restored. The problem was the the repair kept failing because PHPmyAdmin could not create the necessary temp file to do it. This required shutting the sql server down and running a magic command to make it happen. I've requested the host send me the exact steps they used so I know for the future. I know it wasn't hard, but I had trouble finding the right commands to use to do all this (I don't know jack about sql). I need to find the time to learn about sql, PHP and shell stuff at some point.

I'm shooting for 10am CST for the sale. I'll do my best to be on time.

I was sweating bullets on this one. The problem was the messages table crashed and could not be repaired through the normal way. That's basically the entire forum...all the posts. But, luckily the host was able to get it back for me. I kinda knew what they had to do but just wasn't exactly sure of all the steps to do it. But, I did learn about using shell commands to control mysql in the process...so there's that.

Anyway, time for a new backup.

Cool. I think people will be pleasantly surprised with the Dirtbaby. It really did work out well. Actually, this was my second attempt at it. I did another version two years ago but screwed it up royally. This time around I got it right.

You can reduce the fuzz on the Retrograde by lowering a couple of the electrolytics, I bet. Specifically, I would reduce C3 and C5. Maybe down as far as 1uF. Haven't tried it so I cannot make a precise suggestions.

Global Annoucements / Holiday Sale and more
December 04, 2014, 12:37:38 AM
Starting this Saturday we will have a holiday sale that will last several days. It will probably be some percentage off kinda thing. Also, I will make some of the "Short Run" PCBs available at the same time. I am working on the project documentation on those ahead of time and a couple of them are already up. The Short Run PCBs will not be part of the sale because they are already going to be sold at very discounted prices. So, it's kinda the same thing.

Since I know someone will ask: the holiday sale will not coincide with any other new releases or re-stocks. Sales have been a little sluggish over the last two months so I am hoping this sale will help me pick up a few extra gold pieces so I can get all the stuff ordered from the manufacturer that I wanna do. These next two batches are going to be pretty big!

Also, a couple people have asked me to hold onto the Short Run PCBs for them. In this case I have to (regrettably) say "no" because there are very few of them and I want them to be first come first serve. Hence the announcement in advance on when they will be on sale. I will have the Danger Zone, Dirtbaby and probably a few Laser Wolf boards available. That might be it for Saturday. I do believe I might even get up Dirtbaby and Danger Zone samples up in time. I'll work on that.

I hope everyone is gearing up for their own holiday festivities. This is my favorite time of the year...when it is about three weeks out from Xmas. It's way more fun to look forward to than to actually do it, haha.

And not to celebrate my newly forming grey hair...here is a bean with a Santa beard and hat.

I would follow the suggestions in the build doc concerning the upper octave part. There's not much else you can do with it....it is what it is. And, it's not bad sounding by any means. It does add texture when used with the down octaves even though the upper octave is not very prominent. That's just the Pearl Octaver design.

I will be getting the prototypes for the 2015 ver. pretty soon. If it works out, I will probably offer some of the extras for sale cheap until I get the first batch manufactured. So, if the upper octave thing is really important to you maybe wait just a bit before populating your board.

Low Rider 2015 will be the same octave/two octave down. It has a totally new octave up section, as well as an additional mixing stage for the four outputs.

I like my B9. The C9 look great, too. But, Two organ pedals would be way overkill for me.

I'm finding it pretty funny that some TGP'ers are getting bent out of shape about the C9 coming out after they bought the other one. More power to EHX, I say....keep cranking this stuff out.
