I've had alder, swamp ash, mahogany, basswood, pine and korina bodies but they have all been on different styles of guitars and I don't have a strong preference. I also had an acrylic body for a while but it was way too heavy for me.

I'm not sure where I fall on where the burden of proof lies, though. Common sense tells me different material types would cause some measurable difference in outcomes so it seems that one would want to prove that this is not the case.

I guess the problem I see with providing a baseline to test is that I don't know if you can make the same body out of different woods come out to the same exact weight. I think that would be crucial to analyzing the results. You also have to account for the moisture content in each wood type, I think.

Sharkfin and Harbinger - next batch in the next three weeks. Lowrider  - batch after that either late December or beginning of January.

Well I'm gonna have a crybaby pity party over SOMETHING at least.

And, Cody: my beard hairs are precious cargo. Each one becomes a magic elixir when dissolved in water. I cannot just give that kind of thing away.

I like the ad copy on the Clusterfuzz, too.

Thanks. My comment to the other guys was something like "I just wrote what did not offend me" (I hate marketing speak). We all agreed our sales copy should stay away fro the standard boutique cliches whenever possible. But, we did agree that the phrase "made with the highest quality components available from some countries" might get used at some point, haha.

... actually, can we have a gutshot of the Clusterfuzz or is it all gooped up...?!? Just kiddin... ;)

We will have a gutshot up soon. Some of our products will probably include schematics for service, too. We haven't decided exactly how that will play out, but I think Dave, Forrest and I pretty well agree that we should release at least partial schematics on products in a service manual and/or to the DIY community.

We have three overdrives in the the works right now...all very different from one another. All three are actually pretty close to being "locked in" on the design. What happens next largely depends on how well this first batch of fuzzes does so we are trying to get those out the door as soon as we can.
Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!

How about an inductor-less wah? Or, a Phase 45?

Thanks, I will fix the typo.

The Function F(X) website is finally taking shape. Lots missing on it but we will flesh it out over the coming weeks.

The dry signal path will definitely distort with a misplaced resistor value (assuming it is a large enough error). Like Jon said and audio probe is the best way to track it down.

Thanks for the youTube link x2.

I'm placing the order by mid-week, so it should come at the end of this month.

Open Discussion / I pretty much must have this.

Man this would making song demoing a lot easier for me...no more plunking on a damn keyboard. Integrating it with an analog effects chain would be pretty divine. The fact that it is wireless is amazing.

That's correct.

With buffered bypass you only need to switch the output between the effect and the buffer. With the Kingslayer/Sunking/Klon there is one additional pole which controls the LED. However, that pole does double duty in that when the effect is bypass it grounds the output of the overdrive gain stage simultaneously to prevent any unwanted noise creeping into the output (I guess). What I would do here is use the LED that is powered from the relay bypass instead to simplify the switching.

So, I think this is what you want:
Connect the effect input directly to the input jack.
Leave the effect input on the relay board empty.
Connect the buffer output from the circuit to the input on the relay board.
Connect the effect output from the circuit to the effect output on the relay board.

When the relay board is in "bypass" mode it takes the buffer as the input and sends it directly to the output.
When the relay board is in "effect" mode, the input of the relay is open, and the output of the relay is connected to the effect output.

You lose the ability to ground the drive circuit like I mentioned above, but that may not matter.
