Global Annoucements / Re: Dirtbag Deluxe 3?

Ok so another question on the Dirtbag.  No, not when is going to be released.

On my current dirtbag(which is awesome) I have a switch for vibe/chorus.  Is it worth putting a pot here like the original?  If so what kind of pot assuming a linear pot, but which one 10k, 100k, 1M?

I'm not aware of the DMM ever using a pot to blend between these caps, but I don't know every version they've ever done, either. The standard modulation control is for depth. The DB3 also has a rate control. But a 100kB for frequency control like GL suggested would work, I think. If you are doing that you might even go further with the two caps and use 4u7 and 220n in place of 2u2 and 470n.

That sounds great.

I'm probably getting a B9 in trade, but I think it's a bit more of a novelty.  I think I'd use the Pitchfork more.

The Klon used 1N4001, so you are good there. I picked 1N5817 for the lower voltage drop.

I'm sorry you had that problem. The error was discovered a few weeks ago: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=17021.0

The project doc was also updated with the link to the correct switch. I have a couple of these switches on hand, so if you wanna trade yours for mine just PM me.

Global Annoucements / Official: Welcome Grind Customs!
October 06, 2014, 09:59:39 PM
I'm pleased to announce GCFX is rolling their product support forum into the hosted forums here on MBP. Rej and the GC team have made quite a name for themselves in the last two years and I'm excited to see this change foster even higher membership and activity here on the MBP forum (I'm greedy that way). We are lucky to have these guys as "official partners" here!

Welcome Rej and the Grind Customs crew!

Looks cool.  Where do the Input / Output jacks go?

The small ones will fit on the sides, I think and the PCB on top. However, after some more thought this type of layout might be better. Gives more room for the jacks. The pots could go on top or the sides. The DC jack would actually go on the top corner!

Here's the the first try on an LB layout. I'm sure you can guess what it is. This one was for practice, but maybe I'll make a couple.

Why kind of guitar/pickups are you using to test?

Passive humbuckers, though not super hot/high outputs. Tried a couple different guitars as well and the story is the same. Have been plugging directly into the pedal (first in chain).

Okay, thanks. First thing I though was an impedance issue due to the volume knob thing. Could be that the input resistor needs to be lowered further. I'll look at your pics a bit more and see if I have any suggestions.

Does it stop when you set the Pulse too high or too low, perhaps?
It doesn't hurt to remelt the solder joints as a first step, even if they appear okay at a glance.

I'm actually into this idea. I think I will try to come up with one or two. That said, I think a phaser would be a bit of a challenge. But, we like challenges here.

There is a newer version of the 808 - the FR300. I've almost bought bit half a dozen times.

General Questions / Re: Moodring Reverb vs Delay
October 02, 2014, 10:28:22 AM
The minimum delay time is extremely short, but there's no easy way to measure it. My guess would be around 30 ms. To my ears it is not really objectionable. But, if you want to bypass it you will need to switch the output of C9 between R13 and R20. So, you will wire C9 off-board in this case. Connect a wire from the + pad of C9 on the PCb to the + side of the 1uF cap. Connect another wire from the - side of the 1uF cap to the middle lug of an SPDT. Connect a wire from one of the outside lugs to the - side of C9 on the PCB. Connect the other lug to the - side of C16 on the PCB. That should give you a bypass.

That's all right, I got a Yamaha Ty Tabor...

I am quite jelly right now.

You should be jealous.  Apparently, they are the cat's meow.

Indeed. That guitar comes with quite a tail.
