I saw someone else has requested a Megalith layout. I made a vero one off the schematic below and it sounds brutal (awesome) and the schematic was given out over at FSB by the maker. I would love to see a 1590B version with a DPDT for the notch switch since the rotary is over kill for 3 caps.

Yup, already done. The name came from a Youtube comment I saw on some pedal demo.

Brian, will this include the necessary LFO on-board, or will it be a sort of "plug in LFO here." (The effect on its own does nothing without sweeping.)

It will have the option of Square/Triangle/None on the PCB. I used to have one of these (no LFO) in a wah shell and it was bad.ass. I might make a spot on the board to add on a ramp circuit for the photocell. I'll have to test it out.

Cool. I have a box for this effect, but I'm not totally sure I'm happy with my layout yet, and it'll be interesting to see what you've done with it in terms of the LFO choice.

It's a totally vanilla LFO. Used this one many times in different settings.

Global Annoucements / 12.13 Etcher's Paradise update
December 13, 2013, 02:45:05 PM
Although I keep adding stuff to the list, this is pretty near final. I'll add three more projects to make a 150 total. Here's the list below of what's what.

Quick facts:
  • All of the "old" projects have been re-designed with new layouts that conform to one standard/parts library, etc.
  • There are many new projects which have not yet been verified. I will have time to verify some of them, but not all.
  • Some of these projects will become regular MBP store products. Some will likely be available from Haberdasher. Some may been available through OSH Park. And, some may not be available through any means but etching your own. I do not know which is which yet, so please don't ask until I get further along the process.
  • All of these projects will get brand new documentation, which is obviously gonna take some time. But, it will be standardized (finally).

There is enough here to keep you busy for YEARS.

Anyway, the projects will be available to coincide with a website re-design. I hope to have all this ready to go by the end of Jan. or beginning of Feb. There's a lot left to do, but I've already completed the hardest part, which is doing these layouts (well about 95% are done at least). So, have faith!

The list.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Harbinger Volume
December 13, 2013, 02:20:01 PM
Yes, your volume will be in the last 1/3 - 1/4 rotation most of the time. The univibe doesn't have much output.
#4552
I've also done a Crash Sync with optional LFO. I think it will be pretty rad.
#4553
You're not going to get any audio from pin 13 with an audio probe. What matters here are the output pins. It should be loud and pretty distorted as it makes its way through the rectifier and such.

Are you using BC550 on Q2, Q3? Have you verified that you are getting 5v output from the regulator?

I've done a few etches (never a reverse etch, mind you) rather successfully. The only thing that ever worked for me was PnP blue but for one it's certainly not cheap getting it from overseas and two it was far from perfect. It's really sensitive to temperature and it would either not stick enough or smudge.
I've tried all sorts of printers on all sorts of paper (OHP, sticker backing, photo, magazine glossy) and never would it stick properly to the enclosure. I've tried rough enclosures, I've tried sanding for half an hour up to 1000 wet mirror polish and it. just. wouldn't. stick. properly.
I'm starting to think it may be my iron (just a regular clothes iron, steam off) but with all the hassle it's just not worth it anymore. I barely have time to solder, this kind of tippy-toeing and river dance needed to get it to consistently work just doesn't fit into my life schedule. I barely even play anymore since I started soldering...  ::)

You need to sand with a lower grit to get it to transfer. The surface should be visually scratched...this allows the toner to grab onto the surface when heated through.

I love it!

Are you sure you are posting in the Member Projects area and not the Extra Projects area? The second one is for my projects, and members cannot start threads there.

I just tested a thread/upload in the Member Projects area and it worked fine.
