Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Runt build ... Problem

Definitely a ground problem. What is your testing environment....on a breadboard? Do you have both input and output jacks grounded?

Yes, it will work fine. TL062 is the low current consumption version of the TL072, but either will do the job.

I'm having a lot of fun re-doing some of these old projects. My skills have improved a bit since 2009!

Ha ha...actually, this is only covering etching artwork, not manufactured PCBs. It's way past time to bring everything up to one standard. It looks to be close to 100 projects by my count.

Just a tease of a much larger endeavor.

Global Annoucements / Mudbunny back in stock - new look
November 07, 2013, 09:06:35 PM
The 2013 Mudbunny is here! This version is identical circuit-wise to the previous one, but now comes in Norwegian Death Metal Black. The project doc has been updated: http://www.madbeanpedals.com/projects/Mudbunny/docs/Mudbunny.pdf

PS the version pictured below is the Civil War build, with BC549C in Q2, Q3 and 2n7000 clippers. Sounds pretty good. I'll probably change Q1 and Q4 to something else...just cause.

Here is a sample of an early build of the GreaseGun. This one gets a little weird at the end because I moved the amp or mic inadvertently (you'll hear the part I'm talking about).

Open Discussion / Re: Simple MN3007 Chorus Circuit?
November 04, 2013, 03:09:47 PM
The John Hollis Zombie chorus is very low parts count and great sounding. However, it is pretty noisy...enough so that I would not recommend it unless you are willing to accept that. There are some tweaks to the circuit available on DIYSB, but I've tried them with no luck in reducing noise.

I suggest instead going with the Little Angel chorus. It is very low parts count and sounds great. Doesn't use the MN3007, but don't let that fool you. It's a righteous chorus.

You can easily find info on it through Google.

Mods / Runt clipping switch

I don't know if I ever posted this, but someone asked me through email how to do the same type of diode switching on the Runt as it appears in the Slow Loris. Here's how.

My favorite kind of email to get. That's all...carry on.

I don't see that necessarily as a problem beyond the possibility of a wider variance on the particular pots you are using (they tend to be up to +/- 20%). I guess my question is: does it have enough output for you when using it at max Vol/min Gain (IOW as a clean boost).

It is possible that you have used a wrong value resistor somewhere...one that sets the relative gains. These resistors are R9-R11, R15, R19, R21-23. If all those resistors are the correct value, then I would check to make sure you are getting +/-9v in the right spots. That would be pins 4 and 11 resp. on IC1. The voltages on the other pins should be 0v.

edit- Jacob beat me to it!

The boards are in and look good. We are waiting on one other special package that will be part of it. I expect next week we will announce the date and release more info on the PCB bundle. It won't be an actual Kickstarter. Most likely it will be facilitated on our website.
