You could replace the trims with a pot + resistors on both sides, to have external access to things like the balance of steps up to steps down. Might be fun. In fact, I might just go ahead and do that on my build when I get around to this. I don't really need TWO more envelope filters.

Yup, that is a good idea (about the external trims). You probably don't have to use resistors....depends on whether or not you mind somewhat broken settings at the extremes. Anyway, two 9mm pots for those would work out fine...there's enough space for it.

They are on the Projects Page, actually. Look on the left hand column for the recently discontinued stuff.

The envelope filter part is pretty easy to tweak with the three controls (filter, attack and decay). It could be tweaked even further with some value adjustments (higher or lower decay cap for instance or higher decay pot), but I think it's already set in a way that will satisfy most.

Serious question -- why two 3080s instead of a 13700 for the FSH? :(

Well, I already borrowed a couple things from the Tonepad project and it just seemed like I would be copying it completely if I did that.

Sharkfin doc is now up.

That might be fine. Speeds up to 8k RPM is pretty good for that size. Only concern would be how much clearance to you have with the drill fully extended. You need to be able to drill the tops sides of enclosures, which are about 4.6".

Here's an alternative for about the same price. Slower speeds, but I've been using one like this for a while and it's decent enough.

There's no problem with him (or anyone) using the ZPDSX to build some commercial pedals. That is clearly spelled out in the new licensing policy started this year. And, credit is not necessary in the sale or marketing of such a thing (it's appreciated but not expected). The only problem I would have is if someone tried to take credit for the actual design and present it as their own. Obviously, that would be disingenuous. I don't think that is the intent here but it's hard to make a judgement just on one small Facebook blurb. So, let's not.

Frankly, I don't know why someone would want to build the SDX as a commercial pedal. It sounds great, of course, but it's so labor intensive that I can't see how it would be profitable for anyone in a price margin that will compete with other commercial delay pedals.

The switches are mounted directly to the PCB and soldered. You can use 16mm short pin PCB mounted pots for the Vol and Int control, but this is not required. If you use regular solder lug pots, you can affix something to the back of the pots to create more support. I use 3M double sided foam tape a lot. Or, you can use dust covers (smallbear has them cheap).

A 16mm dual pot fits height wise, but you should gently bend the top row of lugs flat with some pliers. This will ensure those lugs do not contact the back of the board.

Yes, it has a knob that controls the sensitivity from pretty much off to wacko. It's a really fun trick.

I can't say a release date for sure, but I would expect pretty soon. I just figured out the last little bug on it today so I'm ready to prototype it. It will be called the "Phobos". It also has dynamic control over the trem rate, which is pretty fun.

Yes. I'm working on it right now as a matter of fact. You will be able to select triangle, square and sine waves. Plus, another really cool trick.

I use AllwaySync. Well worth the money (it's pretty cheap for lifetime updates). I back up to two extra drives pretty regularly after learning my own lesson a few years ago.

Sorry, bro :(

With the release of the new projects/re-stocks this month I will have a free shipping week, well just because. The boards/free shipping will start on about June 12th (an approximate date) and go for seven days. I'm announcing now so it is not a surprise.

Free shipping will apply to all domestic orders and international orders under $50. Int'l over $50 will be the standard charges listed on the project page.

I will have documentation up for the new projects later this week. I had to scale back on the releases due to the number of other projects now out of stock. The new releases will be the Kraken (Mutron Micro V), Sharkfin (Maestro Sample and Hold) and the Weener Wah II. The Peacekeeper and Sparklehorn are pushed back to the next batch of releases.

Project development will slow down for the next two months while my daughter is off from school. I just don't have a lot of time to spend in the workshop until August. Some of you may have noticed I've been kinda absent here for the last week or two, as well: seven year olds are quite demanding, ha ha. I do have a ton of stuff "on the verge", though. You can expect to see some of the vintage EHX stuff start popping up, plus a few of the "also in development" from the projects page and at least one or two I haven't mentioned anything about.

But, I will try to keep things exciting around here through other means, like the free shipping week and maybe adding one or two new "Extra Projects" on the forum pretty soon.

Sure. After that, take a listen to pin6 and pin7 of IC2. Those are the input/output of the compander.
