27R is fine for R40. Even 100R. Its purpose is to provide separation between the 9v and the VD supply.

Simple, use a breadboard. Hook up an LED with the negative side going to one of the center poles of the switch. Turn the switch fully counterclockwise. Now test the outside poles by connecting them to ground. When the LED lights up, you have a connection. That's pin1. The next one should be pin2 and then pin3.

Actually, I do have one. I can add it to the build doc this weekend. It is a 1590BB layout, however.

Hi/Lo is the Range control and Up/Down is the Drive control, actually.

Maybe the high input impedance of the the CA3260....? Dunno.

Hmmm...what IC are you using?

Do you have a continuity checker on your multimeter? That will tell you which pins are connected. Where did you get it from....I'm sure there is a datasheet which will tell us.

VTL5C2 is okay, but the one listed in the build doc was more responsive, IMO. Actually, the demo I'm going to do is of my single sided Nautilus, which used the 5C2, so keep an eye out for that.

I wanna stress, though: follow the advice on the vactrols in the build doc if at all possible.

Should be possible. It may result in additional gain....although I've never tried it. You may find it necessary to swap one or two JFETs out for 2n5457...maybe Q1.

I've actually done one, but never really got around to having it made. If there is enough interest, I could get some.

I do have a single sided version of the last one....I just never got around to putting it in the document. It's different than the original. I'll have to take another look at it.

There will also be a single sided version of this new Boneyard II...just have not done the layout yet.

No, just cascaded diodes via a charge pump, like a lot of the frequency central designs. Gets up to around 80v or so. The heaters use a resistor.

Do embedded pictures and attachments impact your points?  It seems logical that they would.

I don't know exactly how the point system is tabulated but my wife, who is a web administrator, looked at it and said "well this really should not be an issue". I'm pretty in the dark about most of this stuff, so I just gotta trust what I've read and her expert opinion, ha ha.

And really, I don't expect over the top service for the $7 / month shared hosting plan we have so I'm not concerned about upgrading to a better plan (despite the added expense). Really, my only concern is end user impact over the next few days while I sort this out.
