Nice! It would take a while, but I imagine something could be cooked up with that info.

Do you have any of the service manuals for the other Maestro pedals?

Jacob

I have them for the Phaser and Stage Phaser.

The last batch of prototype PCBs got here yesterday, so I will be wrapping up everything and making a decision this weekend on what to release. Obviously, these are "March" releases now, not Feb. Anyway, I think I will have the final list on Monday or Tuesday.

Yeah I pulled out my old "Bluey" the other day. Still sounds tops! I've got a red one I still need to build up.

On another note, this just arrived in the mail today :)

You can use other NPN if you have them...2n3904, BC550, etc.

It would be very interesting to put something like the Green Ringer in line with the upper octave---two octaves up, and maybe a slight improvement on it overall. Or, a small transformer, even.

Yes, this is a good idea.

Take the resistor out and put a jumper in its place to see if that solves the problem. If you are running the effect on a well regulated power supply or battery it's superfluous, anyway. And it that does not solve it, then it could be somewhere else down the line in the supply chain.

Are you sure you did not use a 3k3 resistor? Or higher? The bands should be orange-orange-black.

The TL072 is problematic. Your supply voltage on pin8 is only 6v. It should be 9v.

Okay, got it. Have you tried putting a volume control on the end? That should make it more palatable to a solid state amp.

Hard clipping of the circuit would sound more like a fizzy square wave type distortion. The RR will produce really smooth overdrive in front of a tube amp, but adding a volume control will let you use it more like an actual overdrive with an SS amp...basically "fake" the tube amp part by attenuating the output gain.

You could just pull the output from R46 and R55, feed that into an IC buffer, or low feedback non-inverted set-up, with volume knob and make that your down octave output. It would be pretty straight forward, as mods go.
