As soon as V3205 pcbs become available I have gotta get one.  Must have one, it is making me crazy.  There is so much good stuff coming up, I am starting to freak out. Yay!

Everything was fine for me today and then all of a sudden it won't load.  Really lame!  This LK guy sure made a mess of things...

I thought my junk pile was impressive!  Your junk looks like good stuff too, not just Lowrey organ guts!  Are those all failed experiments?

I have 2 now, a pair of real sweet boys.  The newest one came on Feb 11th and big brother just turned 2 in June.  Pedal and amp building is all done at night after everyone is sleeping, sometimes if both boys nap at the same time there is a good hour of shop time, but lately they have been doing a good job of staggering their naps.  I definitely try to get small blocks of work done as well.  All the IC sockets, then all the resistors, then all the caps etc.  The hardest part is having time to visualize the layout in the enclosure and make sure everything is gonna fit.  My Bad Stone clone ended up not having enough space for the jacks to live happily with everything else because I didn't have enough uninterrupted time to think through it clearly.  So it is harder to get stuff built, but not impossible.  Congrats on the little one!

I use Switchcraft jacks.  If you want your builds bulletproof, SC is the way to go.  The nut is a little thicker, even if it has 1/2 a turn more threads in it there is better clamping and resistance to the jack moving in it's hole.  A good thing if somebody accidentially misses the switch on the box and instead nails the cable plug during a boozefuelled epic solo with epic stombox stomping aciton.  Every guitar I get gets a SC too.   The tip contact is made of thicker steel than Neutriks and has a good positive feel, you plug your cable in and know it is going to stay there unless your bass player is standing on your cable again when you start doing your Townsend routine.  The main reason I use them though is that I have opened up alot of vintage gear, and been in many old pieces of ham radio equipment and 50-60 year old Switchcraft jacks are still tight, nearly uncorroded, and the fiber insulators between the parts are still solid.   Worth the extra $0.50 to me.  Cheers!

Another good way to get your feet wet is to get a turret board from Ken Watts to turn a valve junior into something great.  He has good layouts and docs on a vox, fender, marshall, and supro interpretations of a SE amp and the turret boards and components kits are cheap.  Look under VJR stuff on his page:  http://www.turretboards.com/
The first kit I built was from GDS Amps, the 18 watt tremolo.  Their new S/C Lite is a pretty good deal because the transformers are top notch and you get good build docs, but their kits come with orange drop caps, and for an 18 watt Marshall clone it is better to use Mallory 150's or Sozo's.  Also 18 watt marshalls usually make me want to put my pedals in the closet and forget about them, you can use a rangemaster clone in front of one for a little more volume for leads, but they sound best without a big pedalboard in front of them.
Steve from Trinity is awesome, and this is probably the best place to get a full blown kit from.  The Triwatt looks to be the most pedal-friendly amp of the bunch.
After you get a simpler low power amp like these under your belt, then  try something bigger from Ceriatone or Metroamp`, Allen amps are also super nice if you wanna go the fender clean route.  I wouldn't endorse Mojotone's kits or Webers as being the best choice for a beginner, and the component quality is what keeps the price low.  Since Ted Weber passed (RIP) the company is different, I ordered a Blue Pup 10 Alnico speaker from them and the voicecoil was rubbing from being glued onto the cone at a weird angle.  Something I had never seen in the other 5 speakers I had bought from them before Ted's demise.  They fixed it for free, but that speaker still doesn't sound right, kind of a bummer for a $95 investment.

Is this pcb gonna make it to production?

Just a side note on the echobase.  When it is bypassed using the switching arrangement shown on the build documentation there is some residual noise added to the signal chain.  I noticed it today while adjusting my aquaboy for less clock noise.  It sounded like a high freq oscillation.  Faint but noticable while not playing.

Yep!  I am using them through the FX loop on my Boomstick, just above it on the board.  Makes switching both on or off faster than having to hit each 3pdt individually.

It's so artistic!  Like a cubist painting in there!

I had mentioned this pedal in my earlier build report on the Boomstick with FX loop.  Very cool having the Aqua Boy running into the Echo Base.  I ran out of 10k carbon film resistors doing the Aqua Boy, therefore the Echobase has a heap of carbon comp 1/8w 10k's for better or worse.  Hiss doesn't seem too bad so I think I will leave them in.  Plans are to add the Digital Destruct dual delay board sometime this week.  Matte metallic spraypaint and middle of the night sharpie madness for this one too....  I only have 1 pedal on the board with proper a proper decal now, the first Rangemaster clone I built.  My Bad Stone clone is sharpie'd too.  I guess I am going with the "sharpie means I won't sell it, decal/nice paintwork means I will" mantra.  Enjoy!

Sounds really good!   It gets a little noisy (background hiss while not playing) when it is in full gain mode (OD switch is off), but I think I could get it quieter with some chopsticking of the leads.  I think it is fantastic really, I needed a power-chord friendly distorton pedal as my setup is pretty twangy/worshipping link wray...  I use a strat with fat-strat pickgaurd with a GFS Surf90 in the neck and Mean90 in the bridge with tele switching and a series parallel switch into a Supro 1616t with Weber 10" Blue Pup Alnico speaker...  So it fits the bill nicely.  Good luck with you build!
