Thats a nice build there!

That is the one board I really wish DEFX would have located the wiring closer to the stomps like all their other PCBs.

Are you having any issues with knob collisions? Looks like the spacing is quite close  :o

Easier said than done Greg.  Although that was laid out some time ago, perhaps I'll revisit it and see if I can improve it

Try there are a few guitar PCBs there and they are UK based.  Also fuzzdog are in the uk

Have a look at the Tym Fuzz Munchkin

Sounds like the bottom pour is the ground plane, and the top pour carries the positive supply.  They aren't two separate ground planes.

If you use the ratsnest button it will fill the polygons, and providing the polygon line with is heavy enough you should see the gnd pads connect to the bottom plane, and the V+ pads connect on the top plane

I've spent most of this year building this monstrosity

Most of the smd stuff is pretty easy now except the QFN and STM packages

I've been doing loads of smd building a modular synth.

The trick is lots of flux.

I also use solder paste, it helps hold the component to the board as well.

And lastly, hot air.  That's a real game changer.

If you don't have hot air use a wide chisel tip

And lots of flux

Looks like I drew the symbol upside down in my Eagle library, the pads and orientation are correct on the pcb.

Just bear in mind that mine os the prototype, there were a few changes to the headers om the final design

Sure, I'll go grab it. Might be easier to do it over FB or Instagram if you have an account.

Nicely done, glad you enjoyed building it.

I might be biased but the deadendfx Lola is as close to the original as we could get it.  The power supply is modified and the input for the pedal has been modified since the original opto pedal is near impossible to recreate.

I think the pedal PCB version is based on the mutron reissue, which isn't the same as the original unit, I might be wrong but the reissue is just two mutron phasers in one box, it doesn't have the same waveshaping options as the original

The vactrols change the resistance into the filters, if the trigger isn't working and the led isn't lighting up showing the envelope working then the resistance into the filters will be high and the signal wont pass.

Does the led light up on the top when you play?  again this can be setting sensitive.

If you are on social media (Facebook) drop me a message ( and I will help you through it.

I'd check the wiring of the intensity and decay jacks and the soldering on the pads, sound like something could be grounding out in that section.  Hit us up on FB if you want talking through it

Did some more poking around and found that the tip of the Decay Jack has continuity with the Ground of the Intensity Jack. Could this be causing the problems?

Decay jack tip shunts to GND via the tip sw, all of the GND connections have continuity so yes it's correct
