Merry Christmas!  With such a crappy year, I am crazy thankful for all the cool people at MB.  Best wishes to everyone.

Those look awesome, Chris.   8)

I went with the Knipex,  after this thread.  They are also nice, but the tip is less flat than the Hakko ones I have.  I scratched the PCB, first time I used them.

I use heat shrink tubing
Genius!  You just found a use for the large heat shrink tubes I've been saving for years.  ;D

If you finally give up waiting for Tayda to post a new coupon to their facebook and just order the damn cart.....

These are the tools I bought in 2020:

a deburring tool and a solder sucker.

The solder sucker has been a life changer for me.  Before I got this, desoldering often involved burning the heck out of things while using copper braid.  Not fun.  This is simple.  Heat the solder, push the button, and the solder is gone.  8)

The deburring tool is nice too.  Saves some time cleaning up drill holes.  Not life  changing, but helpful.

I got that same solder sucker because of a thread this year.  I also love it.  I had a cheap one, this one really improves building.

This center punch has been a game changer for me:

Wow that looks awesome!  I do like the position of the tuner...."you stand over here and don't talk to anyone" ;D

If the guys at mouser, Tayda and small bear send an email to check on you when you take time off of pedal building to build a guitar.
Lol  ;D

If your mom got you a Small Bear gift certificate for Christmas.......

Yep, worst part is I spend a lot of time looking at them too rarely at the pics of my kiddos :P

I've got another one.  If you know the time the mailman comes on Saturday and you get worried when he's late......

Damn you!  Now I have to build this one  ;D

Looking good!  8)  Do you know if the floor polish flakes off?  Pedals that I have sprayed with clear get flaky after a few month on my board.  It's pretty cool that you can put this stuff on without tearing the pedal down.  Thanks for the report.

That looks awesome!  Great way to remember this weird time  8)

I don't want 1590As on my board, but I've grown to appreciate them as my build collection keeps growing.  They're perfect to have access to a fuzz or drive for recording or playing at home.  Takes half the space on the shelf, perfect excuse to build another  ;D

I actually have moved away from painting enclosures, its no fun in winter and on smallbear its cheaper to get basic colors than a bare box. Tayda is like a .50 cents more for powdercoated over a bare enclosure. Plus its more durable. I may try the no film decal. Didn't you do a tutorial on it?
More a trial and error in the open  ;D

If you like Tayda enclosures and are printing mostly black, this method can't be beat, IMO.  I've got it pretty wired at this point, maybe I'll make a demo thread my next build.
