Thanks for the info. The Mobius Strip demo sounds like a lot more delay that I imagined you could get out of those 2399 chips.  Fortunately I already have a couple of those left over from another pedal build.

After checking out some youtube videos that demonstrate the pedal, I am looking forward to seeing the Mobius Strip build document.  Does it use readily available delay chips instead of the no-longer-in production chips like the MN3008 used in the Choral Reef?

I finished my Alpha Dog build and I am very happy with the range of adjustments in the clipping options.  I get noticeable volume drop dialing away from the center position on the hard clipping know, but no BBOF anywhere in the settings that I have played with.  I am using the OP07 chip in my build, so perhaps that makes a difference.

The Bumblebee is not a project board released here yet (AFAIK), so there may not be a lot of personal insight people can share about using it. 

Here is VFE's description of the Bumblebee controls:
LEVEL: Sets the amount of gain in the output section. As a swell pedal, a master volume/boost is critical to creating the perfect swell and avoiding volume drops.
SUSTAIN: Sets the gain/sustain of the optical compressor. The compressor section is tuned to work with the swell, so settings above 12:00 will result in a LOT of squish. For use as an "always on", natural compressor, set this control at 12:00 or below.
ATTACK: Sets the speed of the swell effect. The range of this control is set by the S-F-M switch above it.
S-F-M: Sets the range of swells that the ATTACK control can achieve. S = slow, F = fast, M = medium. This control also affects the release, or how long it takes for the effect to "reset" between notes
MIX: Blends between the swell and compressor output sections. Use this to isolate either section, or blend them for a unique "blooming" effect.
TRIGGER: Adjust the sensitivity of the swell effect. This control is the key to getting the best, most natural swell sounds. Set it so that the signal cuts out when you mute the strings, and swells in full when you pluck them (even a single string played on the 20th fret).
INTERNAL CONTROLS: The TBASS trimpot balances the sensitivity of the swell from low to high notes. DO NOT tweak the TWEAK trimpot, as this is factory set for the most natural swell - from fast to

Have you tried taking it out of the enclosure to test it?  That is one way to see if something is grounding out to the case that shouldn't be, and it also gives you a chance to see if handling the pcb and touching different components while playing something through the effect (great use for a looper, btw) will affect whether it is chorusing or not.

When the chorusing works after powering it on, how long is it until it stops chorusing?  Seconds?  Minutes?  Three songs later...?    And is that a relatively consistent time?

What are the values for the 2 caps that go in the places marked "PWR" on the Alpha Dog PCB?  0.1u?  At least I gather those spots are for caps based on the picture of the assembled board in the build document.  I have seen other references to 220n perhaps going there, and still other references to PWR for VFE boards that are referring to higher current resistors.
