Build Reports / Re: Pedalboard pics megathread

"Smorgasbord" setup- I can thank "The Dude" for the name:
https://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=30604.0
^I really hope I haven't burgled any intellectual property here- I figured it's a good enough idea for the both of us!

Signal is split by a buffer with one output dead-ending into my Boss TU-2 tuner, and the other output goes:
1. Parasit Studio 0415, Guitar Synthesizer
2. MadBean Flunkee, FX-25 clone
3. PPCB Sea Horse, Sea Machine clone
4. PPCB Kliche Mini, Centaur clone
5. MadBean Green Bean, Tube Screamer clone
6. MadBean Fritter, Hot Cake clone
7. Ernie Ball VP. JR, volume pedal
8. MadBean Wavelord, tremolo
9. BYOC Li'l Reverb, FV-1 reverb (My first build ever)
10. MadBean Head Trip, FV-1 multi-effect

All powered by a Donner DP-1
Carbon-fiber-infused PLA 3d-printed brackets
Volume pedal is on a slight slope, which allows cables to pass underneath, plus it feels great
Pine plywood was rubbed with diluted black India ink, then boiled linseed oil
Pine 1x3" just rubbed with boiled linseed oil

Thanks for looking- and TheDude, if you see this, thanks for the great idea- I owe you one!

Wow, those are some super rad paint jobs, stupendous portrait of Barney- you've really got an eye for color combinations!
I may be checking out a Dung Beetle in the future after reading your description too, thanks for sharing!

Super fat riffs, Bean!

Too bad it doesn't sound as you'd like, but regardless of the circuit, that's a super neat hidden LED- I totally wouldn't know it's there without the gut-shot!

Epic-looking projects-
I'm very excited to build my own!
#156
Pobrecito guapo..
That's a grade "A" relic job- cool idea!

^^I've watched through "The Expanse" while building too, but I found I had to play each episode twice if I was going to catch all the details (and populate all the right parts-) that show is so dense!

-Oh, and cool builds too dude- that textured paint looks really neat!

Awesome-looking enclosure and name-plate!

Wow- these tiny builds of yours leave me in a stupor.  The circuit building, pcb planning/etching, the micro-soldering, the pro' shoe-horning, the waste-less wiring, all topped off with super cool and detailed artwork..  Just-Wow, dude- thanks for sharing, I really enjoy looking at these!

Yep.  It's a Mimik, iirc, might be a DBD, using this tap pcb:

I've also used it in my Space Station multi.

^Thank you!

Current board.  Chain is - tuner, Naughtyfish, wah, Lightspeed, Magnum opus, HT-dual, Stealth, Endgame.  Powered by a CIOKS AC10.

Looking to replace the Endgame/Stealth combo with a Zoom G3x, possibly.  Not sure which of the HT or Magnum will stay on the board.  The Magnum Opus can get HT drive levels, and cop the sound too.

^Hey Willy- cool 'Board!  Is that a tap-tempo delay that's part of your "Stealth" effect?  I don't use my massive DL-4 enough to justify bringing it with me on my pedalboard everywhere, but I really miss the tap-tempo function, so I'm looking for a smaller project I can build- any help would be..quite helpful!

Build Reports / GREEN BEAN 2019 Tube Screamer
February 06, 2020, 09:40:34 PM
The Tube Screamer-  It's an overdrive sound that's about as unique as a corn flake- everyone's got or had some version of it, and there are as many of them on the planet as there are ants.  This being said, you may ask why someone who already owns two Tube Screamers would build a third?  A simple answer would be that the Tube Screamer circuit is one of the most-usable lead overdrive sounds of all time in the universe, and Mad Bean just made it sound a little bit better!

Here's my GREEN BEAN build:

The extra clipping options here all sound really great without being redundant- it's going to be another month or two before I pick one as my GO-TO.

I had some extra W20K-taper pots that I used for "TONE" and "LOW" controls.  They're wired off-board because of their pin-out, and also to fit the layout I wanted with the big/small knobs.  Without the other taper to compare them to, they seem to sweep nicely.

All easily fit into a 125B aluminum enclosure.
My "Octagon Pattern" inspired by the number 808 etched with ferric chloride.

Thanks for looking!
Post Script: Yes, if you are thinking that you probably should build one too, you are correct.

Build Reports / Re: How about a Dr Boogie
February 06, 2020, 08:56:57 PM
Awesome!

I know nothing of the HIGH GAIN GEAR world, so I really enjoy when things get posted here and I get to peek behind the curtain and learn a bit.
Seems like the Dr. Boogie and the Revv G4 are nailing all the sounds that the METAL ZONE is flaccidly aiming at-

Shred-on, gent's!

This is so cool- thanks for sharing

I looked real close and mimicked that chord you're fretting..sounds pretty Jazzy!
