Build Reports / Boneyard + Thunderpuss!
October 18, 2012, 05:52:18 PM
This one is for a good friend of mine. His name is Onis Emmanuel Rodriguez, but his artist name is EmaRodz. It's Christian pop/rock. He is crazy talented. One of those freaks of nature that can produce, mix, play keys, piano, guitar, bass, drums...and everything on that list he does amazingly. Nominated for a latin grammy and everything for producing best album of the year.

Anyways...Here's the pedal! I incorporated his logo which has the word "AMOR" (love) in red. The Thunderpuss works brilliantly with this circuit! I have some pop with the boost which I read is normal, but I'm thinking of using a pull down resistor to tame it? Would that work?

He wanted to call it the Marsh-Kal plexi so there it is! haha Hope you guys like it.

Man that's killer. The ES335 is easily my favourite guitar, and all I can afford is the Epi Dot I have. Ah we'll, that's a rad guitar Kaleb.

Jacob

Thanks dude! This is actually an ES-339 with the fat '59 neck. I was fortunate enough to find one for less than half of what they cost new off TGP. Man, the epiphone hollowbodys sound pretty good too! I've tried them both an they are really good for the money.

The body of the 339 is a lot smaller than the 335. This pic shows the size a bit better:

It's been a while since I've been around here! I've missed all u beaners! Haven't been building too much since I've been blessed to be gigging a lot with a Christian artist and we've been flying pretty much every week! (As a matter of fact I'm writing this in a plane somewhere between Dallas and Orlando! haha)

I am proud to say, I have been gigging using Bean pedals exclusively! (except for the Timeline and tuner). Always get tons of compliments about tone and I have you guys to thank for that!! :)

Anyways, just wanted to say hi to all of you and really, I think I'll hang out more often. I don't want the DIY fever to die out ever! lol

I leave you all with the new beautiful addition to my small family, just came back from playing it this weekend in San Diego using the Egodriver and the Mangler and it sounded killer!!

Dude this looks great! I love it...I'm curious if the buffer by itself would take care of the whine completely without altering the original circuit.

I'm also curious about the older Boneyard layout...I know a few people were reporting whine with the older as well but I've built 2 (one with the first version and another with the new version) and I had to whine problem like the ones I got with the new...

This is circuit is such a mystery that I love it haha I'm intrigued by it...we'll get it down people! :D

It's an adaptation of the Carl Martin Plexitone.  And, yes, it rules.  Kaleb's build is just fantastic, too.

Thanks dude! :D To date, it's one of my favorite builds...it really turned out great and Brian's take on this circuit is amazing...

I'm the guy who owns this pedal now. It's astounding and I'll be using it on my new album. Can anyone give me some history behind how this pedal came to life? Other than this site and the video posted, I can find nothing about it's origins.

:o Whoa! I kept wondering where this pedal ended up since I know George sold it to someone...this is awesome!! haha

I'm glad it still works and you're digging it! If you have any problems with it at all, just send me a PM here and I'll take care of it. If you plan on selling it let me know too cause I would probably buy it back from you :P I loved that pedal...

Post some clips of your recording when they're done so we can hear it in action!
