The predrilled PPP VFE enclosures have a 11/32" D/C jack hole. What jack does this fit? The Boss style 2.1mm jacks are 1/2" and the lumberg non-switching thinline jacks are 5/16". It seems odd to have it a little bigger than the non-switching option (use a washer?) but not big enough for the switching jack when the layout is made to include a battery.

I've built a Tonebender Mkii on the Aion Deimos board with a matched set of PNP transistors from Small Bear. I'm running the circuit with a voltage inverter (TC1044S) to get a positive ground from a standard wall wart. My voltages from the inverter look good. I've also been able to get a good bias (Q3=-4.5v from the SBE recommendations and Q3=-8.5v as well).

When I turn the attack knob past 3 o'clock, though, I get a hum/whine that sounds like a slightly sputtering D#4 with or without a guitar plugged in, both in and out of the enclosure, and from the wall wart and a battery.

I tried a 10pf capacitor between the Q2 and Q3 emitters. This didn't change much. I tried increasing the value to 100pf and the whine lowered in tone a bit.

Any ideas as to what could be going on/how to address this?

I just noticed Small Bear is selling a $35 'grab box' of unsorted components. Has any one taken the plunge with this?

I have a few dark-colored powdercoated enclosures that I want to add labels/art to while retaining the powder finishes (they're sparkly PPP boxes). I was considering laying down white areas then color-matching with waterslide decals over top so that the white showed through negative space in the decals. I'm hesitant to do that because my normal routine is waterslides with envirotex. I'd like to avoid the added gloss and depth in these to keep just the powder without added finishes.

I really like the look of bare aluminum with powdercoat, though. I don't have a CNC machine or really know anything about them or laser etching. What do I need to do to do this? There used to be a Tech Shop in my location, but that's not available anymore. Any input or advice would be appreciated.

I'm building up a Pork Barrel with the 3PRR board in order to supply 12V in a 125B enclosure. I'm also planning on using side-mounted enclosed jacks. Would anyone mind taking a look at this template to verify that I'm on the right track with clearances? I've omitted the DC jack in this mock-up (I'm planning on installing that at the top and clearance isn't too tight there) because my main concern is the side jacks with the two boards.

The layouts of each of these pt2399 delay projects are rather similar. I was wondering if someone could give some insight as to the differences between the two.

Can someone explain the waveforms of the deluxe memory man's modulation (ie chorus and vibrato)? Does the switch retain a triangle wave and just cut the dry for the vibrato, or does the waveform switch to a sine wave as well with the vibrato modulation?
