Behind the Orange Curtain!!!
SoCal is nice, I hope you enjoy!

Yeah, obviously cassettes don't hold a candle to R2R but I'd rather listen to a well recorded cassette than a CD.

I love the "vertigo" graphics, your GF did a great job. Let us know what kid brother thinks of the pedal.

People would be very surprised at the audio quality from cassette decks that were made right before the industry put the kybosh on them. Quality very close to the best CDs but none of that cold sterility of digital. Mr Foo was right!

Yeah, you heard me!
Maybe I'm blind but it sure would come in handy... Several times when I type in Madbean it automatically jumps to the forum. Sometimes I DO want to go to the BUY page...

Yeah, I was gonna jump on this but I already have enough for the next year or so... Lol!
It might be a good time to buy original MN3005 though with that 25% off... Around $36.75 which is a decent price for the originals but still a lot more than the Xvive remakes.

General Questions / Re: Total recall power wiring help
December 26, 2021, 01:35:40 AM
It's been a long time but the total recall consumes areound 50-75ma depending on how the delay pot is set. It is DEFINITELY under 100ma consumption.

Open Discussion / Re: Interchangeable tubes?
December 12, 2021, 09:25:24 PM
Yeah, EL34s will work in a 6L6 amp, just make sure that pin 1 of the octal socket is connected to pin 8 of the same socket, a small jumper wire will suffice.
Also, EL34 tubes need about 10 volts less bias than 6L6 tubes. That doesn't mean another -10 volts, that means if the 6L6 tubes were biased at -35 volts, the EL34s will bias at around -25 volts.
One more thing, the 6L6 output transformer will be a bit of an impedance mismatch for the EL34 but not enough to worry about.

Build Reports / Re: Madbean Total Recall

It will fit a 1590BB but several components have to be soldered on the underside of the PCB and low profile jacks have to be used also. The "German" ones that are actually made in Japan, I can't remember the name.

Build Reports / Re: Madbean Total Recall

Great build! The Total Recall is a great clone of the DMM, one of the top two analog delay projects available. What is the other one you may ask? ... Lectric FX's DC Echo. Look it up.

Nice!
This project also works really well with the MN3004 BBD. Clock needs to be adjusted and the clock cap needs to be upped to 27-30pf to get the frequencies correct. 20-800kHz clock range, 40 to 1! You can go down to 17kHz for a slightly wider sweep but watch for noise on the low end of the sweep.
Oh yeah, the MN3004 is 14 pin and MN3007 is 8 pin, just chop the extra legs off the MN3004...

My mistake, I'll correct it to TLO74, which is what it should be.
LM324 should also work for IC4 but I did use TL074 in mine
