Anyway, great build! Could I ask which brand of hammered spray paint you used? I'm planning on boxing a MkII in the next few weeks and am hoping to do that same color.

Thanks, I use rustoleum hammered paints. Even though its paint and primer in one I still do two coats of primer and two or three coats of paint 5 mins between each coat. this is just regular silver. These are the best for hiding defects in the enclosure.

Aion Tonebender MkII with ac125s I got from Lic pedals a while back. No deviations from the original schematic, pure vintage tone here. Rips thru my Tungsten Buckwheat. I did some painting yesterday so I'm boxing up 3 more build tomorrow so look out for 2 more benders and a pork barrel real soon.

I have no idea what it sounds like so now I have to look it up. It looks good and really clean. I'm working my way up to bigger builds like this, and you are making me want to challenge myself.

I'm off work till September 9th because I had carpal tunnel surgery last Wednesday.

It's getting better everyday and later this week I'm gonna start working on some builds. I have a trio of tonebenders (mk1, mk1.5 and mkIII) an auqaboy and a pork barrel up first. Look out for build reports in the following week. So what builds do you guys have cooking up next?

looks good, like the etched enclosure. I built a GGG llama last year. It really does get glassy, to much with a bright amp for my taste. With a darker mid focused amp its killer.

It sounds pretty clean, but with any circuit in this vein, it will have the slightest peach fuzz around the note.

painted the enclosure earlier this week and threw it together last night. Pedalpcb squidward board. The enclosure was from a different project that I ended up not getting into so I salvaged it by filling the holes with jb weld putty. Turned out pretty good all things considered. Sounds good, I used to have a hoof reaper and always wanted the tentacle as a standalone pedal.

I used to work from this diy workstation i made to build from my recording desk. it wasnt long before things got crowded. Parts everywhere, things falling over and builds became tedious. I was unorganized and my fun hobby was becoming a chore. So the past couple weeks I have been rearranging my "guitar" work bench and turned it into my all in one workstation for pedals.
Being a true diy champion and being on a budget, if i couldnt get it cheap or get what fit my needs I made it.

I have an all in one solder spool and iron holder/tip cleaner that I seperated to make feeding solder easier

I made this parts holder for builds. makes populating boards super easy and the work flow is great. its foam with aluminium for the tape to stick to.

but my newest addition is my homemade rotating pcb holder with removable helping hands and solder exhaust fan. look at all the lead and flux I'm not breathing anymore all in the carbon filter.


I'm really happy so far with it all but I know that soon I'll have changes to make but so far so good. Lets see what you guys are working with so I can get some more ideas and inspiration.

Actually, Sterling Heights, a Detroit suburb. I'm Chris, a 36 yo husband, father of two girls and work in surgery/endoscopy at the Detroit Veterans Hospital. I've been lurking around her the past year or so and made an account this year. Like many musicians I got into diy by way of modding my gear to my taste. After modding and upgrading  all my guitars and tinkering with amps it was pedals that I found my love.
I started playing at 10. I was obssed all thru high school. I had crappy gear till I was 20. My only pedal for years was a boss ds-1 thru a solid state amp. During college I got more into partying and less playing. Between work and relationships I all but stopped playing. When I met my wife I had just started getting into finding my tone. She fully supported me and I fell down the rabbit hole.
After going  thru the guitar phase I have everything I want/need. I went thru the amp/pedal phase at the same time which I found was frustrating. I started hating pedals because I never settled on an amp and it wasn't until i got my tungsten buck wheat that I found a new love for pedals again.
I have built some kits in the past from GGG, byoc and mod kits but it was this site that took me from dipping a toe to jumping in head first. My search for a buzzaround led me to the bumble bee, and with this forum I took the jump and sold all my pedals and decided to build everything myself. The pedals I had, the pedals I want and the ones I can't find or afford. I'm hooked. Selling my pedals made it possible to buy so much stuff that I can make 4 times as many pedals as I had, and now I average 15 to 20 dollars a pedal to make. Thanks to you guys for all the knowledge and inspiration I now have found my true hobby. And being a husband, father and a full time job I can get the rush of starting a project, getting fast results and it's cheap. I'll be here posting now and plan to share my builds as I'm proud to be a part of this community.
