Build Reports / Re: IC Muff on Vero
« on: January 20, 2020, 02:53:43 PM »
Vero is a love hate thing for me. Love to hate it haha. Props for going old school. Looks good to me. Probably sounds righteous
Thank you, it is pretty gnarly sounding. I like vero because itís easier for me to troubleshoot, like wise, itís easier to screw up.

I usually save Vero for utility and testing type circuits. My last Vero project was making a jfet tester. A fuzz is totally doable  but anything more than that and I would rather have a pcb.

VFE Projects / Re: Regular true bypass
« on: January 14, 2020, 12:22:25 PM »
Looking at the bumblebee build doc the bypass board uses an IC for the split power rails. Is it truly necessary for the effect to work right? Maybe Brain can chime in. I have big feet and bump pedals all the time hence my distaste in no latching relay bypass. I want to just wire it regular old fashioned true bypass style.

You can get foot switches with higher actuation resistance (i.e., non-soft touch) if thatís your main motivation. The carling switches are the ones to go for for that purpose. Alternatively, you could try a low-profile 3pdt switch and use that for switching while using the switching board/a vero build for the power.

The split rail is required for this project.

So something like this and just use 2 terminals

Probably a dumb question but do you have to use the soft relay bypass or can I wire it up with a regular 3pdt switch?

Mods / switchable regulator
« on: January 14, 2020, 08:22:45 AM »
I'm wiring up a test  rig with a RR on a rotary switch for variable power for different effects. I want to further mod it to make the 15v regulator selectable between 15v and 12v. To wire up the two regulators would I just use 2 a 3dpt switch and solder the regulators to each side and wire the center lugs to regulator pads on the RR? Am I overthinking it?

Watching this to learn something new but as my board for this is in the mail right now. This is also why I love this forum, everyone helping each other without the condescending BS of some other forums

I'm waiting on that polyphase. Can't wait for February. Winter in Detroit is my time to build, to cold for anything else haha

February should be pretty off the hook. It's going to be phaser city up in here, and some of them will have tap tempo/waveform options.
Did someone say phaser?!

Is the low rider on the discontinued list? That was another one I've been waiting on to be back in stock

There will be a few more early Feb. and that will be the last batch.

Hah, six phasers here, not including doubles (two doppelgangers, two infinitphases) and ones I haven't finished (DEFX Biphase). Edit -- seven, forgot the Tau Pipe module, eight if you include the 329 Aries Phase/Flange too.

Really nice builds, oldschool dymo labelling always adds class 8)
Dymo for life. I don't have the patience and or skill to do some of the amazing stuff some of the talented people around here do. My stuff is like the nerdy girl with glasses. Outside might not be perfect but it sure is pretty on the inside.

Super neat work, tasteful color choices, they look incredibly nice together as a set- thanks for sharing!

Agree - really like the enclosure colors.  Where did you get them - or did you paint them yourself?. NVM.  Missed you saying you painted them.  Nice job!
It wouldn't be diy to me if I didn't paint it myself. Plus after so long you get those cool looking pedals with chips and scratches like all those vintage boxes

I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the polyphase from Brian to drop. That will go to the front of the build line the minute it gets released.
