That turned out really nice. Great job on the enclosure, you got it down great on the no film.

Nice one Dan, love me some octave fuzz. Is that expensive transformer the red and black box in the upper left hand corner? I've never heard of this vfe pedal before. Can't wait to see the demo. The painting is perfect too!

Very nice work! I love the way you described it, the fuzz factory of CE-2, perfect now I gotta add that to the to do list.
its a really nice sounding chorus thats not using expensive parts, you'll really like it. I have a couple phasers I just bought boards for so those are gonna be coming soon as well as another analog delay

That looks fantastic, and your wiring is beautiful. What amp are you using this with? I've never tried a friedman amp or pedal but this makes me.want to try one.

That enclosure is looking pretty full there. What do the LEDs do?  Also any sign of those caps I sent you?
The leds are for rate and on/off, and yeah it's squeezed in there pretty good. Caps didn't come yet but hopefully soon. Thanks again.

That's classy!  What do you think of the sound?
I really like it, it's like fuzz factory of CE-2s

Build Reports / Julia chorus

My cabintech order came in today, so this one chorus down. Built on the pedalpcb board this is a really nice take on the CE-2. I've built a pork barrel and this has the traditional CE-2 sounds but it's the variety of warble that that this can get with the lag and blend/wave switch that I really love.
julia Carpenter was the second Spider-woman as well as madame web and arachne. She's the first of some up and coming builds to use some of the other spider women. No film on tayda flat white enclosure.

I just watched all 5 seasons of Orphan Black the past month. Man that was a good show. Scifi based in reality, with great writing, acting and some pretty descent action. Tatiana Maslany acted the hell out of all those roles, at times I would forget that it wasn't one person playing them all, sometimes with 5 or more on screen at once. Some interesting ethical stuff to think about. Check it out if you haven't.

I guess we can't all be Chris or Dan with a build report every week
hey, I don't have one this week, so my next one will be jimilee style with 2 or maybe 3. I'm back on my bullshit and doing bigger builds right now, I'm currently working on a pedalpcb julia chorus, aion blueshift, and about to start a man o' war dlx. of course like you i'm waiting on parts to get here to finish them up.

Open Discussion / Best way to delay a project
March 06, 2021, 04:46:11 PM
So I had my enclosure all done with my no film waterslide decal applied beautifully I put it in the toaster oven to cure it for 30 mins on the lowest temperature. My six year old decided to help and put the temp on the highest setting. I think she thought it would speed it up...I'm not sure what she thought lol. I smelled something that had a burning stench and when I opened it, my light violet powder coated enclosure was now white and the toner and glue from the decal melted and burned. Hahahahaha nothing less helpful than your kid trying to be helpful. Dont have another enclosure that color so had to order one. Project delayed, again. What's your best mishap?

Buzzaround/Dizzy Tone
I second this, I've built both and the dizzy tone is the nastier of the two so I recommend that one

Super clean inside and out Jimi. What brush on clear are you using? Is it self leveling? Either way it turned out great and Eqd makes some great stuff.

Excellent, another two great companions on your Fuzz quest! Top notch!
Thanks Stephan, can't wait to see what your cooking up. Always fun to see your new creations.

Always killer! I was hoping you had gone with Omega Red on the tentacle though since I'm partway through the current wolverine run and x of swords ⚔️⚔️
omega red was one I was considering but I'm a spiderman guy at heart and I'm trying to do a sinister six group and already have a couple down. The x-men was probably my second favorite series and I have quite a few of them done as well.

Nice, those looks great. Very clean. I really like the looks of your pedal "Brand", very clean and detailed.

Here's a question, what does your pedal storage system look like? Mines is boxes everywhere so far. I have some Rubbermaid shoe boxes that work well also. There has to be a better way. Takes me forever to find what I'm looking for.

Thanks Jimi, honestly I have 3 spots in the basement. The biggest stash is in a table that has two big ass baskets built into it. Then on top of my piano I have a bunch on display, followed by what's on/around my pedalboard. I plan on putting together a big 5 shelf book shelf to put them on. I can do multiple rows per shelf. The piano would then be overflow. I'd like to do each shelf as a category, like modulation, overdrive or delay.

Build Reports / Companion Fuzz and Eqd tentacle
February 28, 2021, 08:46:27 PM
Here are a couple small builds that I put together this weekend while I had some spare time. First up is a Aion Fy-2 companion Fuzz. Simple straight forward can of bees with optional volume boost and mids knob. It's like a fuzzrite on steroids. Next is the eqd tentacle which is a modded green ringer. I like using octave up on a clean tone sometimes so this is fun to have. Low parts count on both is always a plus. I'm starting my 2 chorus builds next so Im gonna be busy for a couple weeks with that so I figured I'd throw these together. Miles Morales on the companion Fuzz and doc ock on the tentacle. No film decals on tayda powder coated enclosures.
