Another follow-up on Chipquik. I had another PCB to recover an FV1 from. Went through the same process as before. To my surprise the chip released just from a few seconds of heating both sets of pins in quick succession with my soldering iron. I didn't even need the heat gun - it just came right off. After cleaning up the leftover solder with wick the FV1 was nearly good as new.

So, I am a believer now. There's not of ton of solder in the package but I've used it 4 or 5 times now and I still have plenty left. I think it's worth recommending it.
Is this the de-solder alloy ? (apologies if you've already said). I've been eyeing a tube.

I'm sure somebody else is building this right now. Let's see some progress pics!

Looks like my parts are coming in today but I still have the enclosure and art work to do.

Suspenseful not knowing, eh? [cue 70s movie-drama music]  ;D

Ok, will do thanks. I may have a 22nF orange drop around I could put there. Probably the only high voltage cap I have in that range.

Brian, I have some 223,333,473 orange drops if you need 'em sir.

Fig you are crazy as hell.

That  evaluation was a farce. "crazy as hell" wasn't even a choice on the form!

I built and did a demo of the old one, does that count?

Dan, your builds always count! My wife often asks "Why can't you play as good as Dan? Why don't your boxes look as nice a Dan's" after watching a demo. You gigging gigolo you.

Folks, there's no time limit on the contest but that doesn't mean your fellow pedalist isn't already peppily populating the pcb.

I see it on the image...but not in the schematic. It's a rectifier diode...

If you are speaking of the PCBGM Eagle Claw, there is no D5, per the build docs.

Hope you get it sorted.
