I got my suggestion about R22 from this vero layout by IvIark

It says that it is farty because Q4 is misbiased.

Try changing R22 to 2k2 instead of 22k. The orientation of the transistor is correct on the silk screen for Q4 for a 2N5088.

You can never have enough GND points.  

The other holes next to the caps are for using caps with different lead spacing.

Here's a picture of my layout, it's a simple little circuit. I used Eagle to make it.



Like I said, I haven't tested it yet but it should work.

I'm waiting on a PCB for that pickup simulator circuit that I ordered from Laen's PCB Order.

The idea was to put it in front of pedals that have problems like wanting to be first in the chain or not working as expected with active pickups, e.g fuzz faces, range masters, Woolly Mammoths etc.

As I haven't got it yet, I can't report on success but I would be interested in other peoples experiences too. I'll report back after I've got it built.

If you have a diode test setting on your multimeter, test the diode with that. One way it should give a reading of about 0.2-0.3 volts. The other way there should be no reading. If it does this, then it is working OK.

If you don't have a diode setting on your multimeter, have a look at this page:

Just looked in the Eagle 5 manual. It says not to use WIRE, but to use NETS. But it doesn't say why or what happens if you don't.

I've never had an issue with using WIRE, but I suppose I should start using the right tool. I guess.

You get free junctions if you do!

Any reason why you use WIRE instead of NET to connect up your schematic?

There's a thread over at FSB with a schematic and the manual. Looks like it uses a non-standard sub-harmonic generating chip.
