Quite often, I have two presentations open, one which is the one I need to build, and then others from which I copy slides. Also reviewing documents, I often have my mind mapping program open to take notes (Mindjet Mindmanager is great), or have my notes open when writing a document. Or two drawings to compare dimensions and see if things will fit. Or in the case of a CAD layout, the schematic and layout in different screens. it really is wonderful, and you can always minimise everything on the second screen to have the tasteful desktop background showing.

I have dual 24" monitors both at work and my main workplace at home (the lab/home office). But we also have an office downstairs, two desks, and I have a 28" monitor on that desk, can't imagine going dual with 28"s because that would require a lot of head movement I think.

Oh, and make sure everybody around it is wearing eye protection.  The lasers on those cheap fiber lasers are not behind protected glass like most CO2 lasers.  You can cause permanent damage without protection.  They usually include a pair or two of the glasses.

Also, be aware that glasses are not going to help against a direct hit or a good reflection. Closed box, and a lid with a switch to kill the laser is the way to go.

The analog studio in the city where I live has a room full of 50's-60's measurement equipment which was used in early electronic music, that type of equipment often has ginormous knops (since the equipment itself is large).

Thanks for the reply, I've also been contemplating lifting the 220k resistor, and adding a trimpot and hot glueing that to the pcb, to allow dialing in. Or, do it at the jumper for the envelope input jack (which I did not fit).

Just built a Junk Trunk, which was a very pleasurable experience, I really like the style of layout, sensible spacing of components, very nice.

It works also, so that is good, but the envelope detector seems a bit too sensitive. Haven't played around with it very long, but I think attenuating the signal going into the envelope detector could help a bit. But it might very well be the components I used, I used a 3.6V zener rather than 3.9 and I selected a green LED with 2.1V forward voltage drop (according to a table, yellow is between 2.1 and 2.2), as my particular yellow LEDs were all around 1.8V Vf which was atypically low for a yellow LED. Can someone explain the relation of the zener voltage and forward voltage drop with respect to functioning of the current to the OTA's?
