Mods / Mudbunny to Pharaoh

I know the Pharaoh was based off the GGG board so how hard would it be to make one out of the Mudbunny?

If this is a taboo question I'll remove it!

Also, has anybody changed the output cap value?  Would that be any benefit or is the input caps where the magic takes place?

I tried changing the output cap in combination with the input cap blend pot, but I preferred the original value of 10nF. I tried 22nF, but didn't like it.

Thanks!  I think I'll leave it. I'm going to try a 25K linear pot instead of the 10k audio as well....I've heard it does nice things.

So, I just finished building a Rangemaster and Pastyface in one box.  I'll be honest...it was a pain in the butt!  But I got to thinking, why not a fabbed board with the Roadrage built in for voltage conversion?

Well I answered my own question....I put a 4n7 and a 470n on the front end.  It bottoms out at about 5n5 which is close enough for me.

Once I'm done I'll report on the sound.

Well hot damn....that blend mod is just what I was looking for!  I do have a couple of questions, when the pot is turned all the way down, will the cap value at input be the 5n or will the 1uf still have an impact?

Also, has anybody changed the output cap value?  Would that be any benefit or is the input caps where the magic takes place?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply guys.  I'm a little tainted.  I'm comparing it to a Tim which is giving me a little bit more beef.  Also, I'm just playing at bedroom levels through a Vox AC4 so it's hard to get the true picture.

Hi All,

I just finished my first Sunking and it sounds great, however, I'd like a little more bottom end.  I've seen that some people have brought this up to 6.8n with good results.  Has anybody else gone this way and found 'the sweet spot' for that cap value? Or, is there another way to go for getting more bass?

Thanks!

did you change any of the components from the ones on the build sheet?

It sounds very raw :)

Just the input cap to match the Black/Gold version.  I'm going to play with some trannies to see what I get.

Well finally....my first attempt at a build and here's the results.  No pictures but a little clip:

I've got a couple of others in the works and will post pic's soon.

Let me know what you think...it sounds a little 'crispy' to me...but maybe it's supposed to be that way???  ???
