It might not even need the LED/LDR combo, and just use the output from the depth pot.

Try wiring it like the modulation on the zpsdx, its not connected across the pot, as we normally add it.

I've not tried this, but worth a go.

I think the low frequency trivibe has a 18k resistor on the speed pot, 12k on the high frequency.

That vero is a little confusing as its got 2 circuits on it.

There's the splitter/mixing circuit from my schematic, and the LED/LDR ramping circuit on the top 5 rows.
Transistor is a 2n3904.  The LDRs replace the 820k resistors on the trivibe boards,  the speed pot is a dual gang 500kb, wired to each trivibe board.

Yeah.

Sorry they are Vgs, so basically, yup avoid J201s from Tayda!

If the FET tester is based on the Geofex matcher, then it doesn't measure VGS, but the voltage at which something or other is 10k, or something like that, can't remember exactly what it measures.  It's useful for matching, but its not VGS, its always lower.  Those are the figures I get with some of my genuine J201s.

I now use the ROG Fetzer valve FET testing circuit, which has no active components, it just measures VGS, and with a flick of a switch IDSS.  Some Tayda J201s I had measured fine for VGS, but the IDSS wasn't in the expected range.

Get the paper towel remnants off the phaser where it was cleaned!

Finally, I've finished up Rej's awesome Hydra PCB he sent me months ago. Thanks Rej!

Sounds fantastic, and surprisingly quiet even with both effects running at high gain.

Responding on Cleggy's iPad -

Yeah it's a Nixiekits EU one. Very classy kit. The only issues was one of the parts was wrong (I expect the wrong thing had fallen into the parts bin). Otherwise it's all top quailty stuff.

Can't believe you finished it before we did!

I need to do a new schematic and tagboard layout, its got the bax on it, but not wired backwards like it currently is.

Hell yeah!  8)

The 2nd STM800 (v2) in existence!

Third, the first one is in Phil's V-Twin enclosure.

That's amazing Rej, I think I'll stick with the tagboard layouts rather than PTP.

A 1776 Britannia, with a Greg Fryer Treble Booster Deluxe on the front end.

A added a switch to change the coupling cap after the first stage from 2.2nf to 220nf, simulating the normal input of the AC30, works really well, both with the booster active and without.

The booster is the type Brian uses these days, much quieter than a germ range master.  No pot, fixed 35db of gain!!

You'll be lucky :)

The original owner was Thorpy on the BYOC forum, I found out recently.  Small world.
