Hey all and mgwhit.

I used the C5/R5 method to fix my BY whine issue - and it worked, however I'm experience this weird presence - most notably on the High Gain channel that sounds like the pedal is almost gonna go into oscillation. Like if I play a chord and then choke it, there is this underlying presence - like a trebly/wah sound. Its hard to explain.. Has anyone experienced/heard any thing like that? I'll have to keep listening to it to better describe it.

I've gotten that sort of sound on the high gain. The only way I could get rid of it was to put a buffer before it. I used a Klon buffer and it works like a charm now. Worked on two of them.

This is a great looking pedal. Love the minimal decal against the orange.

Yes, I designed it. I'm probably going to change it next time around but it works pretty well. Might go with 1/8 watt resistors only.

Build Reports / Thunder Cannon (BMP)
August 14, 2012, 07:06:21 PM
I started doing a few pcbs of my own lately to get my commercial stuff going. This one is a modified BMP with a mids pot and clipping switch. Sounds better than I could have ever imagined.
The tone stack is slightly modified to go from a slight mid scoop to a big mid boost with a lot of range in between. Still need to find the right taper for the controls, but this one is better than the prototype.

It's hard to see, but there is some stamped lettering on it. The clear coat fades it for some reason.

Definitely couldn't have done this sort of thing without everyone on this forum. Thanks, guys!

Considering a lot of Catalinbread's pedals are $150+ individually, this doesn't seem like a bad deal. And it does sound pretty close to the real deal.

I had an order last week with the same option, and it was about a $50 order. Seemed pretty reasonable considering the next option was a few dollars more.

Clearly you guys are better at planning than I am.  ;)

Love the color and text only decal. Looks very professional IMO. There's a lot crammed into that thing when you think about it! Can't imagine stuffing a RR in there.

Those knobs... are killer.  ;)
Very cool all around. Those resistors are tiny.

There's nothing not to like about this build. Where'd you get the LED cover thing?

General Questions / Re: Pedalboard Velcro Question

I've always seen and done soft side on the board, hard side on the pedal.
It works great when I want to play pedals on carpet and don't want them to move when you stomp on them, but sucks when I put one down on carpet and it won't move...
