General Questions / Buffer circuit and PCB?
May 04, 2012, 06:48:58 PM
Hi, I would like to build a quality buffer for my board as i have a decent amount of pedals on there.  Anyone have a good buffer project AND maybe any buffer PCB's for sale?

Thanks!

I vote Harbinger & Boneyard.  Very excited about all the new projects coming out especially Kingslayer, Weener Wah, & Harbinger.

Tech Help - Projects Page / Grapevine -sounds muddy
January 18, 2012, 04:30:33 AM
I finished building my second Grapevine a while ago.  The pedal works normally except it sounds too muddy/flabby compared to the first one I built....sounds like a cheap pedal.
Substitutions:
C10  -56n instead of 50n
C15  -3n3 instead of 3n

Also I used a bipolar, audio grade Electrolytic for C12.  Is it possible this is causing the problem? or maybe a bad 2n5457?

Open Discussion / Rat Problems
November 21, 2011, 06:05:54 PM
Hey guys, I have Keeley modded Rat that's been acting up on me.  I've had it for a few years.  Sometimes when I engage the effect everything sounds very muffled and quiet.  If I turn it off and then on again it works normally.  It seems to do it at random.  I thought it might be the footswitch as it had the cheap looking epoxy.  I replaced it but the problem remains.  Any thoughts on what it might be so I know where to start troubleshooting.

Thanks!

Requests / Re: Taptation PCB or ....
November 02, 2011, 01:55:53 AM
haha, my mistake...I forgot to check if the aquaboy was a pt2399 based delay...guess I'll use it on the echo base or pt-80 or something.  Anywho,  Jacob that would be great if you are designing a pcb that utilizes all the functions of the taptation.  Count me in, I'm all about it!

Requests / Taptation PCB or ....
October 31, 2011, 05:26:19 PM
Could someone design a pcb layout for the taptation controller found at diystompboxes or maybe Bean could incorporate it into the new aquaboy deluxe that's coming?  I've seen a vero and perfboard layout but would prefer a neater pcb format that includes all the options of the taptation-mod/subdivision/etc.  Gotta have tap and dotted eight's  :) Thanks!

Build Reports / who likes green grapes? I do!
October 26, 2011, 07:37:26 PM
Here's my second grapevine.  Built this one for a friend who liked mine.  Definitely quicker build the second time around.  I accidentally drilled a pilot hole where I used to put my footswitches, so I taped over it and filled it with JB weld.  I'll hide it with markers or paint or something later.  Thanks to Haberdasher for the board, great job on the etch.  Color is psycho vein from PPP. Rock on!

Cool, thanks!  :)

Rather trivial.....So I cranked the diffused green led in my grapvine as high as I dared...used a 300 or 400 Ohm resistor.  Is my led gonna "burn out" soon or am I good to go? Thanks

Looks awesome!  Love that enclosure!  I wonder if you can make the whole thing glow kinda like this light emitting border tutorial
