Firstly, this thing is HOOOOGE. To contain it has taken the mother of all stomp boxes. Then, rather annoyingly, I got most of the decal backwards (you'll notice the in/out, but the vowels are reversed also). I really didn't want to take it apart so I'm going to live with it. If I do another it'll be right. Mounting the pots and sockets through the case was a massive pain in the arse too. It all fits, just...

Functionally though, this thing is just barking mad. The most vocal/vowelly auto thing I've ever heard. Brilliant fun.

I've just built one of these using the board from the DIY Stompboxes thread. It is an epic, utterly brilliant effect (search for the demo's on YT). But the board, which I suspect is vintage correct (there are also a couple of mistakes on it...), makes boxing it up a absolute pain in the butt. Mainly down to the size of the thing meaning it needs a MASSIVE box and that all the pots/sockets are board mount. This circuit shrunk down to a sunking sized board, with an integrated charge pump, would be awesome, if possible.

Build Reports / Double Flush and Darkside

Tremble Oh!

Rather random skeleton theme. Pumpkin flashes with the led inside the case. Works well when it's dark, not so well when it isn't due to the led firing at the holes rather than being right behind them.

Darkside

2nd Darkside built to do some experimentation with, swapping the diodes around (hence they're socketed) and wotnot.

Build Reports / Road Rage (and some other bits...)

Called a Philcaster because it was built for Phil, and a Frankencaster exists.

It's essentially a splittable twincaster to allow you to clean it up by running it on a single valve. It also has a bright switch which turned out a little more subtle that we'd have liked. Had we not already drilled the enclosure we'd have probably omitted that.

It's running a Madbean Road Rage charge pump (the only bit of silicon in the pedal), running the plates at 24v, heaters are running 12v. The valves are NOS RFT ECC82. Unlike the ones I've done running 12DW8's, these don't require anywhere near the current and sound a little better too.

It's an oohwah!

Not an easy build. Made worse by trying to fit it into this enclosure. Looked awesome the first time I assembled it, but I had to totally strip it to reverse all the LEDs. Now they're somewhat recessed and I'll be damned if I'm going to take it apart again to level them out! Saying that, it actually looks cool as hell when it's running.

Hi,

I've been defeated by this one... Pics below (it was so pretty when it was in the enclosure *cries*).

From what I can tell the main board is doing it's thing. I can see things pulsing away on the wire side of IC2. Broddling around I can find the speed working also. Just nothing on the knob-board... The signal is going through the circuit and coming out the other side... But with no effect applied to it.

I'm a bit stuck on this. Any ideas? Gonna attack it again tomorrow anyhow, but pointers of where to look would be most welcome.

I've built one of these on vero and it's a mixture of complete chaos and twisted genius. Useful? Possibly not. Lots of fun though.

Would probably help to have the trim pot for setup even though I didn't use it on mine I probably should have...

Darkside. Only mod is a 100k pot for vol to give it a bit more range.

Hi, I built one of these for a friend (the gold one) and ended up making one for me. Really good pedal.
