General Questions / Re: Understanding LDR's/Mu-tron
October 02, 2017, 01:34:46 PM
Thanks guys, I showed the spec sheet for the Tayda LDRs to some else who is building this pedal. He said the Tayda's will get you in the right ballpark but maybe not enough sweepin phase. He was ordering the LDRS from SmallBear and One set was similar to the Taydas and the other should give a real good sweep. (8002 and (9200) were the models and the 9200's were the sweepy ones

I dont understanding LDR terminology at all, only know they do what they do ;) Now I just finished the Krypton Phaser(MU-TRON ii) I used the Tayda's https://www.digchip.com/datasheets/parts/datasheet/518/KE10720S-pdf.php Someone is building this and has informed me they are going to try both a set of  smallbears 5mm (8002)8 - 24K/500K and (9200)   10 - 50K/5 Meg. Before I button this up Id like some input, thank you

QuoteDamn, what happened to that nice finish? Looks like it got dragged behind a car for a couple blocks.  ;D ;)
yeah, I loved the color when  I finished but things went sideways  ::)
There were a lot of imperfections on that body you couldn't see in pictures. Somnif, I think your referring to the treble bleed and yes that does help alot when your turned all the way down, I haven't installed one yet. I wound up using two 500K pots as well and the .022uf P.O.I. cap. I have a 60's Franken Strat that I want to Relacquer, Nash has a beautiful Grape color Id like to copy and I'd also throw the 63 GFS's as well

So this is what I was kind of looking for down below. Both are Nash T63's. If I'm going to piece by piece the parts I have located a nice fender/ wilkinson compensated brass saddle, I can just by a premade control with good pots/ switch and snake oil cap. Pickups????! I have a set of dimarzios's for it, bridge is a Very old Dimarzio(20+) Twang I believe and it's overwound to 15k ohms, the neck is a mystery pup at 8. K ohms. Now my friend who gave me these pups said the neck was a Brian May tele pup but I can't find shit about on the net. I have paper work from Dimarzio on it but I'm not sure, I'll post a pic as well, and it's a hair to big for slot on pickguard(needs to be opened up a bit) the control panel is 3 way witchcraft, (2)500k ohm CTS, series parallel or phase reversal, can't remember which way I wired it and a Vitamin Q .022. I can't remember why I used that setup by it was something I was reading and I might have the paperwork somewhere

Has anyone tried, owned or have experience with the Mexican 1960's RI Tele? I'm putting together a parts Telecaster and was thinking of using a loaded pickguard plus electronics from a MIM. This is what I'm working on, unshaded first then the two with the picguards with sanded and polished. Not sure if I want to go 3 ply tortoise shell or minty collared white. Those two are from strats

I have been bitten by the pi3 as well. I bought the parts for building a arcade game fighting controller too. I added Kodi to the screen scroll instead of being in the drop down menu. . I need to do an update but I love the NeoGeo League Bowling and BombJack and all that old arcade stuff. I was there for this culture in NYC when it all happened. We used to hit the arcades in Times Square, game rooms and Bowling alleys. There was some serious cash to be made in competitions. I was Junior HighShool from 80-82 and HS from 82-86

General Questions / Re: BYOC reverb issue
September 02, 2017, 12:55:08 PM
The pedal worked fine for years, I'm wondering if the tranny failed. I have reverb coming out of brick, out of tone pot and going into the reverb(level) but leg two(out) off pot has no reverb only clean.

General Questions / BYOC reverb issue
August 31, 2017, 02:05:25 PM
Ok, here's another one I'm trying to troubleshoot. I have only clean sound coming through wether Ingaged or not. Using a sound probe I can trace reverb sound all the way to lug on level(reverb) pot where arrow is. If I go from lug 2 to base of transistor I only get clean sound. Pots seem to be working as well when turned

The Dirt Baby use the PT2339, The AuqaBoy uses the mn3005 which is $22 a pop  :o. Now I was reading herehttp://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=15992.0 mn3205 swap instead of the mn3005.

culture jam, 2008 seems about right, I'm living in my new apt 8 years and I had this pedal before I moved in. It is a bit noisy and when I try to calibrate the cancel on chip one I don't hear any noise at all which is weird. On chip 2,3,4, there is a high pitch that you have to calibrate out. When I play in long delay mode its a little distorted and farty. I started with the BYOC back in the day because I didn't have to source out parts, complete noob back then. I'm not the happiest camper with this pedal the past few days and now I remember why I left it in the to fix pile. I'm gonna close it up and put it away, I guess I have to build a new one. Any recommendations? I don't want to build a PT2339, Analog would be my first choice
