I own a Special 6 and it is a great little amp. And fully moddable. But being single-ended and a low-watter, I don't think it's a good solution for you. A bigger amp with higher headroom is what you need.  ;)
Also, I have played with a Transatlantic and it is awesome. Really! But a little pricey..

P.S. Yes guys! I'm back. After a lot of time. Almost a year.  :-\ But I always was around here reading your threads!
I'm happy I'm back! See you in my upcoming build reports.  ;)

Not as much as it sounds ("Dragon Breath"  ::) ), but it's a great tool for a pedalboard, due to both its size and sound.

It's a 1590A combo of a Crackle Not Okay (a layout of mine and I had it already built) and 1776 Effects' Unicorn Breath. The latter is a buffer board and is a new project from Josh, that will be available in the short future.  ;)
The Unicorn Breath gives a little more clarity to the sound, but it's completely transparent!
Sounds amazing and I think it's a great combo!  :)

Outside: Copper paint and no lettering. Simple as possible!  ;)

Inside:

The input jack goes to a DPDT switch which is the bypass for the buffer (if you ever don't want to use it) and then to the Crackle Not Okay board and the output jack.
Wiring on this was pretty simple, because most of the wiring is already done on the board.  ;D

Hope you like it as much as I do!  :)

AWESOME! that's quite nice and clever too. But how much does it all cost with the pump? Sure it goes cheaper than a SMD soldering station but is it worth it? Maybe I should try it and see.. :)

I knew it! I knew it would be Judge Dredd themed!  ;D

Love him! Loved the last movie!  :)

Great build too!  ;) Well done!

Guys! First of all, thank you so much for your replies!  :)

I had nothing to do, and I finally went and built a 1590A Crackle Not Okay (had the board already populated) with a switchable ON/OFF buffer using a 1776 Effects' (Thank you Josh!  :D ) future project.  ;)

REALLY awesome sounding combo! And a great tool for my pedalboard!

I'll post a build report in a couple of days!  :)

I need to build an easy project (in a 1590A, so not that easy!  ;D ) and I thought of a buffer/booster for the start of my chain. Has anyone built something like this? The only project that I found is the AMZ Mosfet Booster, the one with the two outputs. But I don't have the parts for it. However, I have the parts for a Crackle Not Okay (Soulsonic's SHO workalike) and I have already built one which I quite liked! And thought I would maybe throw in a vero Klon buffer (switchable ON/OFF), and get done with it.

Any suggestions?

CNC machines probably.

It's a really smart Idea, and really basic at it's core, but I think it lacks one thing - it's very proprietary. Cool concept, but i'm not going to buy a pedalboard that will only use one companies pedals.

Jacob
Indeed, it is. But it's a great idea, that other companies and pedal builders should "adopt", too. Or any other solution that could give a 4-wire connection. That would be great. No more patch cables!  8)

Really smart. Once you get into the system you'll probably stick to all their pedals. Genius! Fortunately, from what I can hear they sound pretty good.
Indeed! Thei pedals sound great!  ;)

Oh man, I've been trying to devise something like that for months.
I never looked outside of the standard parts and plugs we use.
Consider this stolen (for my own use of course)
Maybe I'll steal it too!  ;D

I've never been dissatisfied with an AKG product. Awesome stuff.

Jacob
Yeah, Jacob. I've read quite a few reviews for the AKG stuff and all were positive. Now that I've seen it myself, I totally agree. :)

Cool! Congrats. Condenser or dynamic?
Dynamic! ;) It couldn't be this cheap if it was a condenser, right?  :)

Hey guys!
It's New Microphone Day!  :D

I'm really happy with it! It's an AKG Perception P5. Nice sounding mic, and for just 42 Euros, it's a bargain!

I already recorded a song , and it's great for vocals! However, I still prefer my DIY Electret mic for recording guitars... ;)

It would be just lovely if there was a project like that ( BL or hybrid)!
But I don't think I've ever seen BL ICs for sale somewhere. Maybe I haven't searched enough..
