Tech Help - Projects Page / Re: Zombii Wiring Help

wiring scheme? I am not sure what your asking for.

I want to have the LED controlled from the PCB since there are pads, I am using a 3pdt switch, 9v adapter, and battery wire harness.

I already have a wiring diagram for hooking up a LED off board but don't have one for on-board (such as the Zombii board).

thanks for your help!

Thank you. It does make sense but where does the SW wire attach to on the switch? i.e. which of the 9 lugs?

Hello,

working on my Zombii and there is no wiring diagram, specifically for the LED. There are 3 LED holes on the board (positive, negative, SW) together. How do I wire this up? I assume the SW wire will go to the 3pdt and i just wire the positive/negative to the appropriate LED legs right? Does anyone have a wiring diagram for on-board LED?

Also, I am going to use a 3mm LED with no bezel. How is the best way to secure it to the drill hole? Superglue?

Thanks for the help

General Questions / Enclosed vs open Jack size?
January 26, 2012, 02:41:51 PM
I am building a zombii and currently trying to use open 1/4 jacks but have a clearance issue with the edge of the jack and part of the circuit board because of the way i have the layout configured.

My question: is an enclosed jack "smaller" in terms of overall width compared to an open jack? I don't have any enclosed jacks to measure. If even a millimeter or 2 would be helpful. Thanks for your help.

Awesome. Glad to here of a successful v3205 build. Do you still have noticable distortion and biasing issues? Maybe you could post a demo soon?

thanks

Do you have any sound with the LED clipping selected? My LEDs don't light up/flicker until the gain is turned up pretty high.

At lower gains i can't tell much difference between the clipping options

Wow. very cool build. Is the large knob for volume or gain?

I just finished a Grapevine also and am finding some great tones with it.

You could go with a Squier Classic Vibe series tele or strat. These are good guitars for the money after a good setup. The pickups are pretty good. Go to www.tdpri.com and read up. There is a lot of love for the CV's there.

That being said, you might want to look local and find a used MIM tele or strat on the cheap. Like Jakefuzz stated, most MIM are good platforms to upgrade into great guitars. A fella near me is selling a MIM tele for $250 OBO. good deals to be had.

i got to spend some more time on the grapevine today and it really is a great overdrive, especially with humbuckers. It is pretty bright and bites hard so it made my strat a little shrill on its own

Actually, I played around with stacking the Egodriver and Grapevine together and got some really cool tones with my Lespaul, Strat, and Tele. These two pedals actually complement each other IMO.

Ego: smooth/thick + Grapevine: gritty/bites = Sweetness   ;D

thanks Jokura.

I can certainly get some ICs next time I make an online order (smallbear or mammoth). I was just curious if my local RS had something else to try to see if the TL082 was the culprit.

Looks like RS does not carry any of the other IC's recommended. I don't know if there is any similar one to the TL082 they sell that i could try?

Yes, did the LED grounding correctly.

The TL082 i used was from radio shack. Maybe I will try a RC4558 or another TL082 as my IC is socketed.

Are the radio shack IC's all poor quality? Where would I get higher quality IC's?
