General Questions / Aion Corona (OD1)
October 22, 2020, 02:51:59 PM
I built the Aion corona over the weekend. It sounds really good with the stock clipping diode's. I tried some 1n60 germanium diode's in the second position. I really did not like how they sound. They're just a little bland in the circuit. For anyone else that has built the circuit, what diode's did you find worked well as an alternative?

My first ever rock concert was Van Halen at the Capital Center in 1985.  It blew my 12 year old mind.   I've seen hundreds of shows since then, but that one is still one of the best.   RIP EVH.

Thanks all.  I got a basic design made for a green bean.   Now to figure out the water slide decal.....

So I've been building pedals off and on for a long time (I started back when Bean was selling etched boards).  However, I've never done any graphics for them.  I've always used a sharpie or stamps.   I'd like to do some more interesting graphics but I'm struggling to get started.

I have a drill template in PDF (some from Bean, some from pedalpcb).  I want to pull that into a graphics program and then use that as a starting point to add graphics so that my labels and whatnot are in the right place.

Here's what I can't do.... I can't import the drill template from PDF into any graphics program without the template getting resized.  I'm happy to use Inkscape, Gimp, paint.net, whatever... I'm not looking to do fancy things, just some labels.

Here's what I'm starting with: https://www.pedalpcb.com/docs/SixStringStinger.pdf

Any suggestions on how to import the PDF without it resizing would be greatly appreciated.  I really want to make things that look nicer than just a stamp :(

Have you looked for breeders in the national club website?

Make it a light plate and it can do double duty.

madbean, can you elaborate on what "multiple" enclosure sizes means  for the 2020 Slow Loris and Mudbunny?

There are drill templates for several sizes of enclosures.   For the GreenBean, there are three options.

Brian -

I'm so sorry for your loss.   I can't even imagine finding one of my dogs that way.

As requested, here's a picture of one of my boys, "Fox":

For anyone that hasn't heard one of these beasts in the wild check out Robin Trower's "For Earth Below" album. Peppered all over it.

Also, Geezer used it on the intro to Black Sabbath's N.I.B.

I'd like tube-based pedal ports of amps/preamps.  Like your Carmen Ghia pedal but with actual tubes instead of JFETs.  A tube based compressor pedal would be cool too.

Callaham makes awesome products, and should have one that matches your guitar:

So f*cking cool! I haven't been able to try one out but the demos online sound great! Congratulations, You are going to love it.

As an avid Mesa fan boy, I feel l ike a lotof people's frustration comes from not reading the manual. It's not your typical "set ecerything at noon" kinda amp. Once you learn that the treble control is uber powerful and that setting stuff to almost off is common.

Agreed.  The best advice for anyone getting a new Mesa is to RTFM.
