Not if you use the A10k volume pot like the bill of materials states.

You do only if you want to use an A25k pot like the mod states.

I love that enclosure color!  Looks great with those knobs.
I have those knobs too, wasnt sure what color to put them with.. now I know :)

Great Looking build, has a cool vintage vibe to it!  Very clean inside and out!

Cheers

Youtube is your magic answerall :)

My 2 cents, unless I'm a/b'ing them, I'd never know unless one was noisy.

Thanks Rej,

I thought the A10 on the bom was a typo which is where I got the A100K (from schematic)... so I thought we were reducing from 100K.

It makes more sense now with your explanation, thanks a ton!

Just gave it a try.. I really like it.   Box it up tomorrow if I get time.

Thanks again.

There is a note about using a 25ka volume pot instead of the 100K

I have both handy and was wondering if anyone did the mod and if it was worth doing?  Or is it saying it's a better setup if your using the pedal as more of a boost?

Also, I'm assuming the note means simply soldering a 18k resistor across lug 2 & 3 (on the schematic) and I can still use a board mounted pot?

I hate to miss out on good mods  :)

In the hierarchy of learning to walk before you run the Aquaboy's a triathlon.
Ha! Excellent way to put it.

I did the triathlon thing but got lucky.  My first thing soldered was an AX84 HO Amp, bought it as a bunch of parts and proceeded to screw it up from there.  The night I decided to flip the switch the first time I had my wife standing with a 2x4 ready to push me off the thing if my hair started to smoke.  For some reason she decided to hit me with it after I turned it back off though :)

I'm still here and the amp worked so.. I consider myself lucky that a build like that worked for me and I didn't get hurt.  Never got comfortable with the "death by high voltage" stuff with amps so it's pedals for me.

Welcome aboard!!

Ditto what the other's said.

Additionally, that would be a tough build to debug if something went wrong, it's got a bunch of parts and many are expensive and hard to find.

When in doubt:

That's cool.
It needs one more calculation though "Retina Safe Recommended Resistor".

Looks like they are getting their mileage out of the whammy bits.
Was watching the demos for the Drop and this came up.

I like it around 4:16  & really like it when he kicks the boost in at 5:50  and again at 7:00

Dude!  That's really nice looking.  Great etch and art choices.

Throw me into the mix of folks that would love to hear it.

Open Discussion / what song might this be?

Not the opening Robert Johnson song but the first stuff that gearmandude starts playing.
I keep hearing "Ten Years Gone" but I know it's not it.. just reminds me of that song.
