Internet during the 90s did... interesting things to my developing teenage psyche.

I thought the Ginger was supposed to emulate an old Ampeg Portaflex? (I'd take anyone else's word over mine, though!)

Too much beer, by the sound ;)

...and my OCD wont allow me to do vero!  :o  #NotAJoke

I know exactly what you mean. I planned on doing some boards in my Infinitphase as vero...

they ended up being fabbed boards.

I did the psu for my synth on perf (a close relation of vero)...

replaced it with a fabbed board recently.

That labelling technique is pretty cunning! I like it! (I also like your picture background technique too ;) )

Pretty nice guts too, considering the amount of wires for that board.

I dunno, the Lovetone Flange in self-oscillation can cut through pretty well ;)

Pretty neat build :)

Rigol DS1052E 50MHz is great ...

I have one of those! I haven't upgraded it though.

The framerate can be pretty sucky, in the seconds range, sometimes. I suspect I need to go menu-diving, but don't want to devote the brain-time to comprehending it.

What parts of the Shark Fin are you using? Any reason you couldn't use a simpler board?
#2289
Depends on whether they're gold top Les Pauls, or just investment widgets that will hopefully appreciate in value.

I sometimes wonder if there's something wrong with me when I see a constant flow of auctions, where people are selling Gibson Les Pauls, PRS-whatevers, etc, all with the comment:

"This is one of the best guitars I've ever played!"

... and, typically, with a shopping list of aftermarket parts bolted onto it. And it makes me wonder to myself, "If it's so good, why would you get rid of it and get a new guitar of unknown trouser-rustling ability?"

This could just be my inner hoarder.

Good point on the FX loop.

I've been having fun with my Squier Affinity P-bass on Rocksmith, my left hand hasn't gotten used to stretching for bass frets, though!

So I'm thinking of doing a pre-amp/DI box for bass, to go bass-box-mixer.

Would a ROG Ginger plus Balanced Line Driver from TH Customs do the trick? (Thomas, the THC acronym tends to make me giggle a bit :) )

And what other boards would be a good idea in front of them? Maybe a fuzz?

So I'm watching It Might Get Loud. (Favourite part so far is Page's slide on the intro. Shut up all the bloody voiceover crap, turn up the gat!)

Once it's done, is it me, or among The Edge's Double Refridgerator Of Doom, is there a Lovetone Doppelganger sitting on top?! 7:50 on my copy.

If I understand things rightly, with D shaft pots the pot's orientation on the PCB is quite important, as this defines where the rotation starts and ends on the panel, and therefore where the knob marking delineates the start and end.

I dunno, _I Dream Of Wires_ had some insightful stuff as regards to guitar players and what will sell.
