Open Discussion / Re: op amp adapter
September 04, 2013, 02:37:50 AM
there are adapters that can take 2 single opamps like tlo71's and make a dual one ike a tlo72, or two dauls into a quad. etc. I got a link to  a site that sells all kinds of adapters like that. I'll try to find it and post it here

Grind Customs FX Chimaera: http://www.grindcustomsfx.com/

I've built the Sunking and a couple of others as well as having owned a couple of Klones before I got into building; the Chimaera project is just as good as any.

totally agree. GC puts out top quality projects

Open Discussion / no more coolaudio bbd's
March 17, 2013, 02:16:49 AM
steve announced that coolaudio is no longer manufacturing bbd's. he is trying to find another reliable source but it looks like analog elays are only gonna get harder to build in the future. I for one don't have an aversion to digital. to my ears digital delays sound (in most cases) as good or better than analog. I am surprised that with as much as our hobby has grown ( just look at the suppliers we have to choose from today, that didn't exist a few years ago...) that there isn't enough of a demand for bbd's for someone to start producing some. I know I would pay a premium for reliable devices with decent specs.

the satin finish works nicely. the mxr's were never glossy anyhow. what font did you use? it's right on the money to my eyes

if what you described was happening to me I would be crushed by a falling porn channel sattelite within the next 15 minutes...but any so happy things are goin' your way buddy ;D

they are way too big for most mbp boards unless you do a lot of lead bending and cramming. if you ask me thats just asking for a problematic build. they are great however for fuzz pedals especialy ones with looser "vintage" layouts. and to my ears they sound better for these types of cuircuirts than some hi-fi caps that might look cooler.

Don't know about the modulation, but there's definitely some ring mod going on.
I agree. maybe if you put a ringmod cuircuit in the feedback path of the delay. or just added a send/return setup with a stereo jack and use an insert cable to add any effect you want to the repeats.

...

Dude.... I hope your kidding!?!

You've got a soft spot for "Where the Buffalo Roam?"

BTW, Young may have some of the most over the top noise of a distortion tone, but he plays the most incredibly poignant music with it. I can't really figure out how he does it, but some of his solos are the most moving out there.
this dude gets it... neil sux so good

I built bean's p2 project and it is an outstanding fuzz. I like it much more than the g2 clones. super musical fuzz with an interesting tone control. my favorite fuzz at the moment.
