Diode will work if you get at least 10W of power. 10 works, but it does take several passes. The 20W diodes are coming down in price. If you have the scratch, get the 20W. I have a 10 and it works fine, but it does take a while. Cuts wood pretty well too, but obviously 20 would be better/faster/cleaner.

I'm kind of on the opposite side. While I don't want to see AI replacing artists whole cloth  I'm super excited to see how it will benefit society as a whole in the coming years. There are lots of problems in physics and science in that AI may finally help us solve. Esp. In tandem with the coming quantum computing revolution. And, AI as a tool working with artists might produce whole new realms of creation we haven't even imagined. Of course it's going to be used and abused, too. It's inevitable.

This is kind of where my head is at. I am cautiously optimistic about advancement in machine learning. The upside potential is massive, but so is all the bad stuff...pretty much like other technologies, although I think this one is perhaps closer to the magnitude of nuclear technology than anything else we've seen so far.

To my surprise I found out that there was still a follow up to the effort that was put in couple years ago and it's what got me to log back in. Also realized that some resources from those past projects are a bit scattered so with the help of well known member, will try to make those BOM/Instructions readily and easily available.

I need to do another adjustment to the PCB and when I get those in hand I'll send you one (with a programmed chip).

After much mucking around with the TAPLFO chip, I wanted to use it with the audio portion of my near-ancient Shoot The Moon tremolo (itself derived from the Tremulus Lune). I pared down the waveform options to just 4 (of 8 in the original code). Works and sounds great. I gave this one to my guitar teacher.

I laser cut/etched a face plate from 1/16" basswood ply and stained it. Then did some fine sanding to smooth it out and pull back the color a bit.

Side note: I named it "¡Aveces!" because "sometimes there is sound, and sometimes there is not". Apparently I'm the only one that thinks this is funny.
