New Road Bike Day!

All stock with 14 gears but this is the first road bike I ever owned and I like it so much. The way it rides, the way it handles and the fact that I have lost 4 kg for five days. I already have changed the handlebar tape because the one I buy it with was awfully burnt from the Sun. Now I have plans to upgrade it to 9 or 10 speed.

Q: Is there anyone who is cycling too? Show off!  And share some experience!

This is built with no subs and mods second version of this pedal. I decided to put two more stages with a daughter board. The box is handmade by me and the plate is laser cut. Since I made wrong order and bought pots with plastic shafts I`ve had to make additional boards for them.
 

Sorry for the noise and bad playing. Nervous I was. 

Since my job is Furniture Designer and Maker I have access to wood supplies I decided to drill some boxes instead of buying aluminium one. Some of you will say why they are not shielded but since there is no noise and I don`t have copper or alum foil I will leave them like that.
Cupcake - etched board no subs at all. Great sound. Very happy I am.
Mudbunny - etched board. Can`t remember witch version i have build.  I have to tweak it a little bit because I have some problems with one of the pots but I am pleased with First Ever Big Muff I have.
Sam Ash Fuzzstainer 1590A - first pedal I boxed before rock it. ALL pots was wired backwards . Solved. At first it didn`t started but after some audio probe and DMM measuring I found that the signal is lost after Q1 Base. Then I measured +9v path and after 1n5817 ( mine is 1n5819 ) there is no current. Long story short. That particular diode was backwards and still is on the layout. Now I have working Fuzz and I`m so glad I did it .

These days I will go to my mother to see if she still keeps my old pyrograph to label these boxes. Can someone suggest names for them?

I`ve  build the PCB within the last days of 2013 and boxed it on the second day of 2014. SO.... I made this awesome pedal in TWO years! 
Like I said this is awesome pedal and all you have to do is just see video demo by Midwayfair to understand this. My etching skills (as I have some  ) are not that great and I have made a huge mess. Sometimes I have to be more patient.

As I am in Bulgaria witch seams to be one of the far East countries  (I think) and I will open a bottle of champagne in ten minutes I would like to wish YOU ALL a wonderful, healty and full of joy and happiness 2014.
2013 was a great Year for and one (but not the last) reason for that is YOU. All the time I have spent reading, watching and trying to make pedals ( some of them with succsess some of them not that much) wass time well spent.

After few months I decided to use my SeaUrchin again.  For some reason it is not working. I tried so many times and things didn`t get any better. So I said to myself " Build another one!"
After some reading I ended with Hamlet.

One sub (because here I can`t find them) 1n5817 changed to 1n5819

What is the problem then?
It seams to work somehow because the status LED is working but I don`t have neither bypass or wet (IS that the right term) signal.The only thing is noise, motor-boating and iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.... If I turn LEVEL trim CW or CCW it works. If I turn REPEATS pot it is getting faster or slower (that iiiiiiiiiiii is what I mean).
My DC adapter shows 10.80 v  but regardless of that here are some voltage readings:
I. 1044 - I used socket and have cut pins 4 to 7 as it is mentioned in build document

I know that this IC is voltage invertor and some of these values should be negative but this is what I have

Recently I had a lead to a seller on the flea market in my home town and it was said to me that he have a big amount of Ge tranies. The question is which numbers (I mean 2n404 , GT309 , GT307 etc.) to look for that can be used for our hobby? I know that I have to look and measure hFE but it will be stupid to go there with DMM and try hundreds of tranies.

Post numbers and I`ll check what he have at sunday.

I have build this pedal (etched) but there is no sound from it. Checked all the joints for bridges, audio probed  and etc. Read almost every topic about it and here are the problems I have:
1. When I plug my test rig all the LEDs light up - Vol trim counter clockwise, Gain - doesn`t matter coz there is no sound I guess , Peak - same as Gain , Sweep - witch I made external pot dims and brightens the LEDs. For HP/BP/LP I used DPDT toggle wired like this http://www.madbeanpedals.com/forum/index.php?topic=6759.0 ,
HI/LO seems to be doing nothing and RANGE dims or brightens LEDs (witch are always ON)

3. TC1044SCPA is going extremely HOT along with C14
4. Something strange - if I push pin 11  IC2 with screwdriver  LEDs behave like that: No light on pos 1 and Light on pos 2 on RANGE switch.

Any ideas?

It`s been a while since I`ve been here!
So first of all Hello again!
Right on the topic. I decided to play with SU (self etched) but there was only ONE repeat. All of the components seams to work right and then I checked the FDBK pot - no readings with DMM. Replaced it with another pot A50k and voila - tails. The problem is that after I put back the pot on it`s place, tightened the washer and pressed the switch again there was only ONE repeat. Is it possible that the pot is somehow shortening?
Forgot  to say that all the readings on my DMM for IC1 and IC2 are right ones (I`ve checked them twice)

According to Mr.Bean`s rules
1) Bear Hug Compressor
2) No dry or wet signal. Only HUM . Doesn`t even bypasses may guitar signal when OFF.
3) Nothing yet as I built it a week ago left it for couple of days as it didn`t start first time (hours of trying) and tried again at Sunday - still nothing.
4) Subs: C3,C6 and C8 - used tantalum (little + mark soldered to square pad) ; D3 - D4 - BAT41 ; Q2 - BC550 (given sub according to google) ; Q3 - BF245 (same as Q2)

I have this power supply from an old Panasonic phone. It is 9v -300mA but
These are the readings from DMM when I tested it before I plug it in my newly made effects .

1. Is there a problem to plug and play 
2. I there is then what can I do to lower the voltage to 9v and to be able to use it safely.

P.S. I am new to electronics and don`t understand lot of things.

In fact I was planing to build only Dist or OD but now I think I wont stop here.
You are great guys. You are helping me to fulfill my teenage dreams when it was so hard to find (in my country -  Bulgaria) good sounding effects.

Second pedal as promised.
Like it so much. I did it with SMDB, Clip and Presence mods. Have tried and Facemelter but that mod is way too much for my taste and I have noticed that after after some time it just cuts the note you play (maybe I am doing something wrong).
Anyways I LIKE it because like I`ve said in my very first post here I`ve always wanted to have pedal and now after all these years thanks to You DIYers and especially to Mr. Bean I can not only have what I want but I can build it by myself.
Thank you again. Have a wonderful New Year and all your wishes and dreams to become REAL.
