There's some Darkside (G2) diode discussion in another thread. I used AA113 diodes and like them.

I just built a bass and one of the guys who makes necks and bodies for echo park made them the neck and body for me. Great work. Love echo park guitars and while mine is definitely "not" up to their finished specs, the parts are amazing well made and have a great feel.

That's very cool! Have you ever seen eastwood guitars? They make a few electric tenors.

I replaced the stock HBs with BG Pure90 pickups.

I'm kind of an oddball in that I came to guitar via the mandolin, after inheriting my Dad's Martin 0-17T tenor guitar. Tenor is the only guitar I play. I asked Gabriel Currie of Echopark Guitars to make me an electric tenor about a year and a half ago, and it's about ready to be shipped.

I don't see skimping on a bit that I will drill thousands of holes with over the course of years. I was planning to get a new Irwin, as mine is finally showing signs of dulling, and it has developed a slight wobble. I like Klein stuff though. It looks like essentially the same price as the Irwin but with a 3/8" shank. I think I'll give that a try. Thanks Dave.

Alternatively, if you feel like spending more money, the Hougen mini hole cutters (they call them RotaCut) are simply the best thing I've used.  They have a spring loaded arbor that rides in the center punch hole.  Basically, if you locate the center punch correctly, it's going to drill where you want it.  I've barely touch the unibit since I got these.

A question: One of the convenient things about the unibit is that one bit will drill many diameters. How do you feel about having to swap cutters for each hole size? My tool weenie side really likes these, but it seems like it might be overkill and less convenient for drilling aluminum pedal boxes.

The Irwin Unibit is way overpriced IMO. I've had great results with this

I like a red LED in that spot, but I thought I would try the OA126 this time. It sounds a little bit mellower to my ears.

Did it by hand with rotary handpiece, like a Foredom but less expensive. I was inspired by (or copied, if you will) Paul Trombetta's pedals. For some reason, I have screwed up every enclosure etch I've tried.

Yeah...I bought a handful of OA126's before they got famous and dole them out when I feel like it.

I built this on a board I laid out with an on-board charge pump. It's pretty much Soulbender specs, with some NOS Japanese germs and a OA126 diode.

I built this for one of my kids using a Vox shell I found on Ebay and an etched Weener Wah board. Thanks to Joe Gagan for the great parts and service!

Does anyone have suggestions for a replacement material for the rubber foot tread? The original had VOX cut out of it. I routed the raised letters on the shell down flush and would like to cover them up.
