had a gig once years ago and damn near twisted my ankle on a pedal that popped lose. after that i hot glued a heavy cove around the base of the pedals as well as under them. worked like a champ and the glue had a odd effect with the lights

take a wood chopstick and tap the ics and listen as you go. hes right about burning your fingers, thats why i bend down and touch with my tongue (just kidding) if you have a decent dmm pull out the temp probe. still stuck ? poke around at other things with the ole chopstick. i used to have a old AC Memory man thing would shock you just for looking at it wrong !    :o

Just never use a different guitar, and if you do, build another one. It's pretty simple I'd say.
just hot glue the guitar to your left hand and crotch and you will be good !    :o

if it was me id build a no-knober, but mount the board upside-down. drill micro holes in the bottom so you could bake adjustments from the underside with a small screwdriver through the holes.
back to the front side you got your footswitch, add another switch to change to another opamp
2 ops in one box ! slap a chiquita bannana sticker on it and call it good !
