You won't need a Softie for any of the VFE builds.  They all come with a soft touch, already.

Not sure if this is your first build or not but word to the wise, the VFEs are not the easiest builds.

But they're oh so nice.

I'm preparing to build the Total Recall so the photos are a real help.  I also like the way you routed the switch wiring, it looks very professional.

I've been looking for an enclosure for my pedal build, that's larger like the original DMM big box.  Do you have any sources you can recommend?

A 1590xx is closer to the size of the original. Just do a search. Mine comes from Tayda.

I get most of my stuff from Tayda. Have for as long as I've been building. You so come across bad components occasionally. Their resistors have gotten so much better, the leads are as thick as the ones from mouser as of late.

I will tell you this, their name on eBay is Thai Smile if that gives you any indications as to where their parts come from.

Man that looks good.  I currently have a few vfe builds half populated.  The blueprint was the one I'm most looking forward to finishing.  Maybe I'll have to place an order to mouser sooner than I thought.

I used a b taper pot for the volume in the blueprint, cause I ordered the wrong taper. Unity is at 9 o'clock.

I just checked Synthcube and the Xvive's are listed as "out of stock".  They do have original MN3005 chips for $49 each. 
I just pre-ordered some of the Xvive 3005 chips from cabintechglobal.com.  2 or more are $17.54 each.  They should be in stock on or before September 14.

We do that? I thought we just built them! I threw the delay on the pile and did a level and crown on my tele. I have a couple more boards with the resistors populated and I'm staring at the Choral reef all while I'm working on my bachelors degree. I just may crack.....

What is your degree for? Good for you man. I did 8 years of college and when I got my current job I dropped out because I was making more than I would if I finished my degree. Truth is I switched majors 3 times and was burned out. I didn't know what I wanted to be when I grew up so I decided to be a toys r us kid.

Cloud computing is my current focus. I switched once already. I'm 49 years old. I'm just doing for myself and because my company is paying for it. Just an accomplishment I suppose. I currently make more than I could starting out in the IT field, plus those guys gotta keep moving unless they get lucky and get hired by an actual company.

I laughed when I read that too.  The rest of the story is about kids..... made me think maybe Chris' pull out game isn't as strong as he thought.
