Pick a simple design you like and I'll take a look at the schematic and tell you what to change.

Doesn't seem he wants a reversible sweep (up or down). He wants the envelope to act in reverse. Gotta be something like that out there. Can you do something similar with the slow gear?

No, reversible sweep is the idea.

Jimi, IIRC you have a Rissole, that has an up/down switch :)
And I love it, I was just looking for something simple.

Does a simple filter with reverse exist? The filter would close instead of open when a chord or note is struck.

One thing to remember, the trimmer sweet spot is so tiny, it's really easy to miss. Many including myself have done it.

While this may be true. If turning the trimmer doesn't change the voltage at all he can turn as fast or slow as he wants and will never be able to bias the jets which in turn means no phasing.
Right.

In my experience, the smd j201s are extremely accurate in that they are pretty well all the same tolerances. Again, that's just in my experience, I used them in a harmonic tremolo.

Did you go with the B25K rate pots on the dual phase? if so do you notice any funkiness or bunching compared to the A25K on the Mutron ii?
No, but you do have to turn the knob slower.
