Looks cool. I really dig how you got all the knobs in a straight line. I struggle with this no matter how precise I measure.

Open Discussion / Happy Birthday NGD!!!
June 29, 2018, 02:24:29 PM
So, as you all know I went to Memphis last weekend to celebrate my birthday. I usually go to Nashville, but I wanted to tour the Gibson factory. Long story short, my wife bought me a guitar while we were at Gibson.

It's a 2018 studio smokeburst. It's got push pull pots, 57 classic in the neck, 57 classic plus in the bridge. It sounds so smooth. It does have weight relief, which I don't care for, but I'm not sure why. They really got this one right.

Cheers! I think it sounds absolutely fab and as said in original post this could be my 'desert island' pedal!
It does so much so well.
This pedal and a cranked Fender Vibroverb amp or so... I just wonder if there's a wall power outlet on a desert island?!?

In the meantime enjoying an overload of pedals and amps being on the Mainland, plenty of wall outlets here... ;)
Solar Power my friend.

Nice. I use just plan ol tin cans like vegetables come in. For 125b you have to squeeze the top in and 1590a and 1590b will sit right on top. Works great for drying enviro or parks glaze.

That's a serious looking pedal. Very well and incredibly put together. Looks like you could put it out commercially.

Build a Phaser!  8)

What flavor? JFET? OTA? Optical? CMOS?!?!?

(I love phasers, and frequently have to stop myself from building every example on the planet....)
Phasers are good. Why would you stop yourself. I've built every phaser I can find. I just received the dual phaser pcb in the mail yesterday.

The Gibson factory is alive and well. They told me it was just the other Hong's Gibson had their hand in. The tour was great fun. The shop was incredible, my wife bought me a 2018 studio with classic 57s in it.

^^^always a thought every time I think about Beale street. I do plan on going to the Gibson factory for the tour. My wife is threatening to buy me a guitar there. Ribs are on the agenda as well as the blues hall of fame. What other guitar stores are the good ones? Rum boogie and sun studios will be a stop.

I don't think there's a decline, just a shift. Guys like myself have built a ton of pedals and there isn't anything new or exciting in analog. The shift has moved to fv-1 stuff.  For a while it was smd.

Our (deadendfx) version should be faithful to the original, i.e it runs +/-15V, has wave shape and has the expression pedal output.  I'm waiting for Dino to check over the design but alas he's been a busy bee lately.  The pedalpcb version looks interesting though, I might take a punt and build one. :)
Somebody needs to keep me on a list somewhere, I gotta leave no phaser unbuilt.
Why you gotta choose?????

I'm with you on that. I think I've built most of the available diy phaser.
Me too, ask anybody here. Bwahahaha
